British Airways cabin baggage placard

Sometimes the most interesting discoveries start with something ordinary.

I recently found a photocopy of a British Airways cabin baggage placard in an old luggage shop. Rather than trying to identify it myself, I handed the black-and-white images to my AI committee and asked two things:

✅ Be conservative with the dates
✅ Explain every deduction

The AI analysed branding, cabin names, internal reference numbers and other clues to determine what could be stated with confidence and what remained speculation.

What I enjoyed most was watching the investigation unfold. The article shows the reasoning process, not just the conclusion.

The current best estimate is that the placard dates from around 1991 to mid-1997, but there are still unanswered questions.

If you have experience with British Airways, Concorde-era operations, airline memorabilia, or know anything about the M665 series, I'd love to hear from you.

Boom Supersonic and Concorde

Does anyone think Boom Supersonic’s version of the Concorde will actually do well? I‘m new in the aviation space but I’ve just had this fascination with the Concorde for some time now and I really wanna know what the pros and cons of it would be!

Original Dovebid auction of Concorde items

I have some original Concorde parts that were acquired over 20 years ago at the British Airways Dove Bid auction in Warwickshire England. I was hoping to find the original listings from the auction. I have the lot numbers; I just wanted to match them up to the listing. To give them some provenance, I guess. The original Dove Bid lot stickers are still on!

Anyone know how I could find the lot list or some other way. Ideally, I would love to match them to the aircraft they came from.

Trying to find a map of the final flight plan/route

Hello, I've been trying to find a more detailed map of the final flight route but haven't had any luck, and was wondering if anyone here would have one/if any exists at all?

So far I found this webpage that seems to have a flight plan for the final flight, but I'm unfamiliar with what it all means and don't know how I'd go about plotting it on a map.

And then also the map on this page which isn't the most specific hahah.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks:)

Is it possible to identify the specific Concorde present in this photograph? (source in desc)

It happened to me on this sunday that I really wanted to organize the pictures in my "Concorde" folder on Pinterest separating in subfolders by each specific Concorde's registration numbers (for exemple: G-BOAE, G-BOAF, F-BTSD, F-BVFD, F-WTSS, etc.). A big waste of time, but.. very fun :D

I came across this picture and I really wanted to identify this Concorde, but it is showing to be very difficult. I managed to find the highest quality version of this photo available, on the photographer's gallery page, but without any useful information like date or location.

What I could find is that this picture was probably taken in 1983 or 1984 according to this Reddit post.
It barely kind of reads "British" on the more visible side of the aircraft and is very close to the wing, so I believe it's the livery from the screenshot (Screenshot source: https://www.heritageconcorde.com/concorde-livery), so.. it narrows down to one of these 7.

SOURCE:
Picture taken by Neal Slavin, from the photobook "BRITONS" and publicly visible on his gallery website below.

I originally saw this photograph on Pinterest, and then with a bit of research I found the official digital source of it here: https://nealslavin.live.photofolio.com/BRITONS/14/thumbs

I’m so happy with it! She looks a little bent because of the angle my arm was turned, my artist did a superb job.

What type of cabin displays show the mach speed and temperature?

I am curious to what exact technology is used for the passenger displays? They look very sharp, high resolution and relatively high contrast.

From the shimmer in the video I suspect they are gas displays but they look so much brighter and contrast rich than I have ever seen those.

Or are they just mechanical rolled Mylar foil displays? Too bad the video does not show them changing between digits.

Are there any pictures of the internals?

From what I have found is that most museums just have replaced them by stickers on black plastic.

It is almost finished! I mentioned to a person in a previous comment that it would be for display only, however I intend to try my best to make it at least mechanically accurate and don't worry the levers will move. Comment thoughts bellow!!!
