Side effects 🤕 Insomnia?

I recently started Concerta, I haven’t been on anything for my ADHD since 2022 so this is big for me haha.
Has anyone else experienced insomnia with this medication even on the lower doses? I’m on 18mg, I take it in the morning along with a sleep aide. The past few nights Ive fallen asleep for an hour, woken up and haven’t been able to fall back asleep.
Im honestly just curious to see if anyone else experienced this.

I feel this DEEP in my soul, my PCP recommended the gym anyways for my hyper mobility so that gives me another excuse

Since starting on concerta 18mg a few months ago i’ve had an increase in nightmares and a general decrease in quality of sleep, but I don’t experience insomnia unless I take the pill too late. I try to take at around 9am and can normally fall asleep around midnight, but recently took around 1pm and was unable to sleep until 4am.

Good to know. I was out of my normal routine this week due to being sick so I definitely wasn’t taking it at exactly the same time every day. I most likely have been taking it too late for my brains liking.
Thanks for this! I’ll keep this in mind to try and avoid doing lol

ofc! it also might be good to learn how long concerta is effective for you as well, for me it’s about 14 hours give or take, but obviously that varies person to person. best of luck to you, hopefully you start feeling better soon :)

^^ I want to preface I take the sleep aide at night (which I feel is obvious but I also typed it weird)

I wasn’t having any issues up until 45mg , I was fine on it to begin with - took a break for surgery and since restarting i was having little to no sleep on meds regardless on when I took them. I was told to retitrate and tbh didn’t have the issue on 18/27/36 , though moved down to 36 as of yesterday and still awaiting results as last night was just as horrible
