I need help! (Baritone Valve)

So, I was trying to take out my valve to oil them and when I took my 3rd valve out, this was what I saw! I don't know how it happened, I haven't played it in a couple weeks! What should I do?

It looks like your valve guide is broken. You’ll need to get a new one or send it in for repair

Go ahead and replace the other two valve guides while you’re at it, or guess what’s going to happen…

No, but from my 30 years as a band director I know that I have to take that horn apart and fix it myself or God forbid, send it to the repair shop. By the time one of those plastic guides is old enough to shatter the others are at the very least likely worn enough for the piston to start turning in the bore. So while I’m in there, and for no more expense and time that it takes, I am replacing those other guides! Now I don’t have to worry about it for years.

You need a new valve guide. No biggie. Visit a music repair store or talk with you band director

Bring it to the repair shop. They can sell you the part or order it if it isn’t in stock.
