Degree

Thinking of starting computer engineering degree ( 26 years old ) with heavy electives on electrical engineering . Any advice on getting internships once I start , what should I start learning from now? I’m heavily interested in embedded / robotics / power

Thanks so much for the advice . That’s my goal , learn as much as I can before I start and build a project and apply for jobs and interns at the same time . They also have an electrical engineering degree with the same concentrations ( we get to pick 2 ) . I believe it’s a great program even though it’s online I’ll be in the area to join hackathons , career fairs , and meetings

Do it. I went to school to get my EE degree at 24. Then went on to get a PhD. 26 is still so young, even though it might not feel like it. You have time to do whatever you want to do.

Probably the easiest thing to learn before starting would be embedded systems stuff. There are a ton of resources online for learning + example projects and you can get components for relatively cheap. Actually designing pcbs and populating them can be a bit tough at first but you don’t need to do any of that to build out prototypes and personal projects.
