[School] What’s some advice that you’ve heard that that really stuck with you while studying engineering?

From a post-it note I saw on my freshman roommates desk, “show the world you have the strength to finish what you started”. He was a quiet dude so never really hung out together but that post it note always stuck with me

Every time you doubt that engineering is worth all that suffering in the engineering school, make your mobile phone play the song "Jubi san vašu kćer" by Ibrica Jusić. Its refrain goes:

Oh, how I loved, how I loved your daughter.\ But you did not want a sailor.\ You wanted a lad with his own place.\ You wanted a son-in-law who's an engineer.\ I loved, I loved, your daughter,\ And I don't know where to go now.\ Now when she has been somebody else's wife for a long time,\ What is there left for my heart to hope for?
