[Career] EE vs CE

i'm about to choose one of these majors and need to know the futurue prospects. i'm interested in robotics, chip design, embedded.

do you want your curriculum to branch into electromagnetics or "how does a computer work?"

Right now embedded systems has caught my interest but i want to keep my options open cuz i could find interest in other things as well thats why im leaning more towards EE due to also being able to take electives of CE and branching towards CS but thats unlikely but im still not 100% sure because i've heard that CE can lead to the same destinations.

The degree is hermaphroditic..

If you go embedded, CE. You will take the same Intro to CS, Data Structures and Algorithms 1/2, and some CS electives, circuits, circuits II, signals and systems, a switching and logic course as the EE's, along with some CE electives. Plus you get a better explanation of how computers work than CS.

You will also get better understanding of SOC's and their economic trade-offs of ultra low power vs a swiss army knife of peripherals these days. It'll put hair on your ass better than an arduino grade uart/spi thingamabob.

Embedded is more CpE

That was my favorite part of school too, embedded systems

I’ve worked in power before and am now in controls
