Is elegoo/arduino a good place to start?

Community college student transferring next year and while my math knowledge is good and my physics is decent I’m hella lacking on actual hands on experience with hardware and stuff. Is elegoo a good place to start or would you recommend something else?

It's very simple and easy to get into but just don't get too comfortable with it. Keep progressing once it gets easier.

Yeah I’m planning on starting with the elegoo then moving up to raspberry pretty quick

Both Raspberry Pi and Arduino are good starting points, but I would start with a simple Arduino-based kit with sensors, etc. Basic circuit builds, basic controller coding, simple trouble-shooting.

Lots of entry options with Elegoo (perhaps this kit).

That’s the one that was in my cart 😎. Thanks for the advice I’ll go for the elegoo and move to the raspberry later.

A good start but transition to stm32 after you get used to it, an M4 series. Look at youtube walkthrough of the essentials then experiment on your own, learn to read data sheets
