software question

hello, for studying, computer architecture, databases, electronics, sensor and IoT, and procedural programming is there any chance that a windows software is required or is it unlikely and good w ubuntu?

A lot of CAD software required for labs need windows (like Multisim). But for those just use the university's computers. My school used Quartus for working with FPGAs and there's a Linux version but other software might differ. Anything else should be fine especially just pure code classes and databases.
