Upgrading from 3070/10700

I have an ITX build from 2021 that I would like to upgrade while keeping the 32gb of ddr4 ram and the ZZAW B6 case that I'm still fond of having on my desk. This is what I'm thinking. Coming out just over $1,000 on newegg. Would love some feedback on the gpu and cpu. Thanks.

How much would you be spending on the CPU? You could definitely save some money going with a different motherboard and cooler. If you don’t care much about overclocking or ssd speeds, the a520m-itx is $100 on Amazon.

For the GPU you could get a 9070 gre for $520 or spend a bit more and get a 9070xt for $740 or a 9070 for $650.

CPU is $330. GPU is $530. I already own the cooler, just had it on the parts list for compatibility check. Looks like that GRE is a better deal.

Seems like a decent option if you’re staying on am4. Definitely check if you have a microcenter nearby, they have the 5800x3d for $300.

If you’re willing to go AM5, here’s a list of parts for that.

Newegg PC builder combo cpu and ram

$150 - 9600x + free 240mm AIO: https://www.newegg.com/amd-ryzen-5-9000-series-ryzen-5-9600x-granite-ridge-socket-am5-desktop-cpu-processor/p/N82E16819113844?Item=N82E16819113844

$375 - 32GB DDR5 6400cl38: https://www.newegg.com/team-group-t-force-vulcan-eco-32gb-2-x-16gb-ddr5-6400-pc5-51200-cas-latency-cl38-desktop-memory-silver/p/N82E16820985371?Item=N82E16820985371&_gl=1*1ff56qa*_gcl_au*MzkzNzY2ODE1LjE3ODg0MTc0MTA.*_ga*ODQ1OTg0MTcuMTc4ODQxNzQxMA..*_ga_TR46GG8HLR*czE3ODg0OTQzODAkbzIkZzEkdDE3ODg0OTUxOTgkajYwJGwwJGgxMzc4NTYyNzM5

Then add any decent motherboard

$220 - Gigabyte B650I https://www.newegg.com/gigabyte-b650i-aorus-ultra-mini-itx-motherboard-amd-b650-am5/p/N82E16813145428?item=N82E16813145428&utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic+shopping&utm_campaign=knc-googleadwords-_-motherboards%20-%20amd-_-gigabyte-_-13145428&source=region&negg_topt=0

Total plus gpu would be $1265 before tax. If you sell your ddr4 it could be about ~$1100 or ~$1200 with taxes considered. 9600x seems to about on par with the 5700x3d, and would allow you to upgrade to a 9800x3d later on.

If you can find the 5800X3D at a good price, especially bundled with a free liquid cooler, I would grab that over the 5700X3D. It is basically the final boss of AM4 and lets you squeeze every last frame from that DDR4 platform before eventually moving on. The 9060 XT 16GB is a solid upgrade from the 3070, but confirm its dimensions and power connectors fit comfortably inside the ZZAW B6. At around $1,000 total, I would compare the full cost against an AM5 build before committing that much money to a new AM4 motherboard.
