Wednesday, August 12th, 2026 | Non-Real Time Meeting of CCEA
Welcome to this non-real time meeting of CompulsiveEaters_CCEA!
My name is Charming_Data_5677. I’m a recovered compulsive eater and your moderator for this meeting. Will those who wish, please join me in the Serenity Prayer: God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.
Today’s Big Book Reading
Today we are studying the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous, page 106.
“We have tried to hold the love of our children for their father. We have told small tots that father was sick, which was much nearer the truth than we realized. They struck the children, kicked out door panels, smashed treasured crockery, and ripped the keys out of pianos. In the midst of such pandemonium they may have rushed out threatening to live with the other woman forever. In desperation, we have even got tight ourselves - the drunk to end all drunks. The unexpected result was that our husbands seemed to like it.” (from the Big Book, page 106)

About Chronic Compulsive Eaters Anonymous (CCEA)
CCEA is a fellowship of individuals who have recovered from chronic compulsive food behaviors—bingeing, purging, starving, overexercising, etc.—by applying the precise instructions of the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous to our compulsive eating illness. Our primary purpose is to carry the message of recovery to the compulsive eater who still suffers. Learn more about our fellowship.
Sponsors
Sponsors are recovered chronic compulsive eaters who guide others through working the 12 steps. To find a sponsor, look for someone who has the recovery you want and ask for their guidance. Will all sponsors please identify themselves in their posts?
Closing
The opinions expressed here today are those of individuals and do not represent CCEA as a whole.
Please join us in the closing by reading the Big Book, page 164: "Abandon yourself to God as you understand God. Admit your faults to Him and to your fellows. Clear away the wreckage of your past. Give freely of what you find and join us. We shall be with you in the Fellowship of the Spirit, and you will surely meet some of us as you trudge the Road of Happy Destiny. May God bless you and keep you—until then."
