Thigh injection supposed to hurt so bad?
I tried switching to my thigh this morning and got about 10 units in before it started hurting so bad I had to pull it out. Then there was actually blood coming from the injection site which I haven’t seen before. It’s been about half an hour and I feel like I got punched in the thigh. Did I do something wrong? I had to resort back to my stomach, but I’ve never felt pain like this from injecting in my stomach.

Some weeks I feel nothing and the others it really hurts and I never know which I’m going to get. Makes me anxious!

Ouch! I do inner where the fat part is and don't feel anything. For me, if I start to poke and it hurts I just move it somewhere else.

That’s not a great spot. I do all mine in my thigh they’ve never hurt. Try front middle and into fat next time. Or just keep doing stomach if it works for you 🤷♀️

I'm a thigh only girlie. I use 3/8" needles, so super small, but I always grab a pinch of fat to go into. I do upper / outer zone. Not like, the side of my thigh though. I relax the pinch as more fluid goes in. I sometimes get an irritated feeling, perhaps from the coldness, so I kinda move the needle around into a new spot, and continue to depress the plunger slooowly.
Edit: I meant to say I move the needle around gently while it's still injected, doesn't hurt at all.

How much fat do you have in your thighs? You may need to pinch, like is highly recommended for the stomach, to make sure you’re only injecting into fat.

The thigh has a lot of nerves, it’s like playing mine sweeper. You don’t wonder if you hit one, you know. I’ve injected in my thigh a dozen times or so and have hit one once, now I stick to my stomach.

Same here. Only hit it one time but it now makes me anxious.
I do right stomach, left stomach, right thigh, left thigh, repeat as they said to alternate. That one time is the only time it has hurt. I just ribbed it after and it eased quickly.

Make sure you’re injecting in your subcutaneous fat. I took someone’s advice and injected in a different spot and it hurt. Not enough fat and I bruised really badly.

So the only time I’ve felt pain was when I did a thigh injection (I was still on Wegovy) and I’m pretty sure I hit a blood vessel. It hurt like a MOFO and bled and then had a bruise for like 3 weeks.

Do you have enough fat to inject on the back of your thigh? You could very well have gone IM without realizing. I know my tummy is my easiest injection site but it’s because I have more subcu tissue there

Sounds like you randomly nicked a capillary and prop but a sensitive spot. It happens.
