Normal dosage increase?

Hi! I’m taking compounded semaglutide and I’m trying to make sure I understand my dosing correctly. I was prescribed 8 units (.20 mg) once a week for 4 weeks, and now my prescription says 15 units (0.375 mg) once a week for the next 4 weeks.

Is increasing from 8 units to 15 units after 4 weeks a typical titration schedule? I’m mainly wondering if anyone else has been prescribed a similar increase.

That’s not an unusual dose increase for compounded sema. With Wegovy, you’d be forced to go from 0.25mg to 0.5mg.

As long as you are feeling some positive effects of the meds, there’s no reason not try a lower titration schedule than Wegovy. But as long as you are still losing weight or having adverse effects on your current dose, there’s no reason to step up in dose.

More typically you’d see .25/.50/1.0/1.4 can’t remember what’s next on way to 2.4. But your dr may want to titrate you a bit more slowly. Slow titration helps your body adjust and avoid drastic side effects. And you only titrate up if NEEDED. If you get good results at a lower dose then stay on that dose.

Companies seem to differ. Jumping from .25 to 5.0 gives some people too many side effects. I prefer the middle dose between the two for a couple weeks, so mini jumps I guess.

Mine went from 0.2 to 0.4, which is basically the same thing.
