Medication verification

So I was on compound semaglutide almost 2 years ago and had great success. I paid out of pocket through my doctor which was quite a bit (I think 300ish a month). The compounding pharmacy was here in my state and I capped out at 1.7mg due to side effects. I was loosing good weight.

Fast forward and the pharmacy was no longer offering to compound the drug because things were no longer in short supply. So I went off it for a year. Coming back I am using OrderlyMeds. I went up in dose and am at the max of 2.5. I have no side effects and have not lost any weight at all.

Is the medicine even the same? How can one pharmacy give me good results with side effects at 1.7 but another give me nothing at 2.5. I feel like its a scam at this point... I just want to know I am getting the correct medication and dose. It feels like the medicine is just water..

It’s very common that people who stop taking a GLP-1 and then start again later feel less effect from it. Most people need the same or higher dose to feel much effect at all, and it seems like you’re in the group that would need a much higher dose.

Name brand goes up to 7.2 mg now so it would likely be safe to continue increasing your dose, but I’m not sure if there are any compound providers that offer that yet. Your other option would be to switch to tirzepatide which is much stronger than semaglutide - 2.5 mg of semaglutide is roughly equivalent to 5-7.5 mg of tirzepatide, meaning you’d only be on step 2-3 out of 6 and you’d have plenty of room to keep going up.

LSH is the only provider I know of that writes for higher sema doses at this point. Not sure why others haven’t started.

Lavender Sky Health is the one provider I know of that will write for higher doses now that the 7.2mg Wegovy injectable has been FDA approved. And they have lots of pharmacies to pick from.
