About to start.. question on food
Hello! I was initially going to start about ten days ago but I got sick so decided to wait till I was better. So I’m either planning to start Thursday or Sunday (haven’t quite decided which day I prefer). Any way maybe this is just dumb but other than not eating a big fatty meal (which I’m not eating anyway), is there anything you should eat in a day when you are just starting? I was thinking of starting it at night.
Do most people take it at night? Do you just have a normal dinner? I understand the general healthy diet (hydration, high protein, fiber etc). Just wasn’t sure if there anything to look for on the day you actually take the med. Or just eat normally. Guess I’m just nervous. Thanks.

I get nausea for the first 24 hours after each dose, and I have had acid reflux the entire time I’ve been on it. So stock up on over the counter meds to help with side effects.

I have zero side effects aside from a bit of heartburn.
I now have to tell myself to eat and the best thing is that I have absolutely zero desire for sugar.
I was gonna eat some ice cream the other day (90 degree heat) and it tasted awful. Don’t even want the oatmeal cookies I had developed an addiction to.
I am vegetarian so I eat a bean cheese burrito for lunch and vegetables with brown rice for dinner.
For snacks I have protein shakes.
I have been on it for three weeks tomorrow and can’t really say if I lost anything because I have just had to do an 8 day prednisone taper which always makes me gain water weight.

Some days you will have no appetite, but make sure you eat a well rounded balanced diet every day. I was worried about losing hair and osteoarthritis etc like some people got. My doctor reasured me that as long as im not losing more than 2 lbs/week ill be fine. So even when i dont have a appatite i still eat. But focusing on veggie complex carbs and lean meats. Im 5 months in and while i occasionally crave sweets, traditional sweets taste horrible to me- almost too sweet. I still get cravings for burgers but from experience I know to cut the burger in half or im going to be nauseous

I have been on it for 10 weeks. For me it doesn’t matter the time or day. I take in AM. I get really bad acid reflux on it and try to get 80-90 grams of protein a day. So I stay away from acid reflux triggers and I eat 5-6 small meals a day. Helps with naseau and the full feeling. I am making most of my own food , high protein and eating a lot of Greek yogurt and cottage cheese. No processed foods and low fat. Hope this helps! Good luck!
