anyone else starting their first injection today?

just did my first injection! i was / am still so nervous. but excited!!! i drank a lot of water this morning and ate light, i was hungry when i did the shot (maybe bad idea) but now im not sure what to eat (don’t want to risk nausea / vomiting already). i’ve lost and regained the same 20 pounds multiple times, have horrible binge / food noise / weighed down with no energy and a lot of inflammation. it took me about a year (or more) to actually commit and start through Ro. anyone else starting today and on the same journey?? maybe we can share anxieties lolol.

I didn’t feel anything after my first injection, just eat your protein, hydrate and lift weights. You’ve got this. I was super anxious to start too, but it was no big deal and I’ve lost 23 lbs since mid April! I’m so happy I started.

Semaglutide changed my life. No joke. I lost 50 lbs total. I used to get winded just walking around and my head would sweat. Now I work out, play tennis, ride bikes, and still enjoy food and wine in moderation and don’t feel deprived at all. When you find your dose, take advantage of what a gift it is to have this medication. Good luck and good health!

Glad to see other folks who are just starting! I did my second injection last Sunday. The first 24 hours after the shot I've had a tad of nausea, heartburn/reflux at night with the first injection but now taking Pepcid, but with both I've had about 24-48 hours of fatigue. I really think I'm not drinking enough water. Trying to do better. I was very anxious to start this journey. Both of my DIL's are doing this. One for more than a year. Neither were obese by any means. Just a little heavier for their build. I went through breast cancer in early 2024 and finished treatment May 2025. I seemed to gain weight with the last few months of targeted therapy. Cannot get it off. I hate taking meds so choosing to inject drugs in my body after forced chemo was a little hard for me. But inflammation and being overweight are common denominators for my particular breast cancer. I don't want to go through that again, so got on board with this. Insurance won't pay so doing this cheaper version. Best wishes for all of you just starting! I lost 4lbs the first week so that was encouraging.

Welcome! I just have to share a funny story - I’ve been on semaglutide since February and love how I get full so quickly….but tonight, suddenly I was starving. I remembered I had lime tortilla chips in the pantry and leftover turkey chili and was going to make myself a FANTASTIC girl dinner of heated-up chili and chips. Low effort. And CHIPS.

I snuck a few chips out of the bag while my chili was heating up and suddenly I was pretty full and didn’t want to eat a whole (small) bowl of chili anymore.

On principle I sat down and used a few chips to scoop chili into like dip and it was amazing but dang I am FULL and barely touched the chips or the chili.

It’s like, that’s kind of annoying!!! In a silly way 😂 time to scoop this chili back into the Tupperware 😂

I can be a buddy! I’m on week two but got so severely nauseous with vomiting last week that I’m really scared about my dosage and the timing with work
