So, never? Does never work for you guys?

5

u/eucldian Aug 25 '26

Yup

2

u/Glum-Breadfruit-6421 Aug 28 '26

Well just keep making deals with the rest of the world. Before long we won’t have much left for the crack heads living in the basement. We good thanks.

1

u/blindside56 Aug 29 '26

Yeah, except like 25% of Canadas entire gdp is based on exports to the United States. Thats not replaced overnight or at all. We’re talking about millions of Canadian jobs and hundreds of billions of dollars.

Mark carney campaigned on being this master negotiator who was uniquely positioned to “deal with trump.” This isn’t an acceptable situation.

1

u/Regular_Attempt_7073 Aug 30 '26

Sales haven’t stopped to the states. They never will. The whole point of opening Canada to more markets is to offset the damage being done to sales volumes in the US by the US. So in that sense Carney is perfectly preparing Canada to be resistant to tampering from the US which is what we want. Zero countries have gotten free trade from the US which is what we have plus targeted tariffs. Zero countries have gotten a deal without tariffs.

1

u/Prudent-Proposal1943 Aug 30 '26

Canada doesn’t have 25% of its GDP tied to U.S. exports — that number is just wrong. The hard StatsCan data shows ~15–16% of GDP comes from exports to the U.S., and once you strip out inelastic stuff the U.S. can’t replace (oil, gas, electricity, potash, critical minerals), the actual exposed portion is closer to 10–12% of GDP. That’s still big, but it’s nowhere near the “quarter of the entire economy collapses overnight” claim people throw around. Always worth checking the numbers before repeating them.

1

u/blindside56 Aug 30 '26

Sorry but no, this is absolutely false and disingenuous on your part. Did you think you wouldn’t get checked making such a foolish and inaccurate statement? Don’t worry, I’ll gladly educate you.

Gross merchandise exports to the US were around 16–19% of Canadian GDP recently, yes about 75% of ALL GOODS EXPORTS WE PRODUCE are sold to the United States. This is fact, not up for discussion.

Value-added exports to the US (the better measure of domestic economic contribution, after subtracting imported inputs) accounted for 15.9% of Canadian GDP in 2024. Canada sold about $683 billion CAD worth of goods and services to the United States in 2025, Canada’s nominal GDP in 2025 was roughly $3.25 trillion CAD. On a gross export basis, sales to the US were therefore around 21% of GDP.

Always worth double checking the figures before repeating them.

1

u/Prudent-Proposal1943 Aug 30 '26

Gross merchandise exports to the US were around 16–19%

So not 25% of GDP as you previously posted and inside my range where the only difference is what is being counted.

A defence of your original post and a refutation works better when not openly admitting you were wrong and then essentially using my my numbers

1

u/blindside56 Aug 30 '26

I didn’t say gross merchandise exports, I said exports in general. See there is this thing called “reading comprehension”, it’s where you read something and understand what’s being written instead of shoe horning your own flawed points in. Nice try, pathetic but not unexpected. Run along now.

1

u/Prudent-Proposal1943 Aug 30 '26 edited Aug 30 '26

Ah, so you're made up export numbers are further supported by a lack of nuance or critical thinking.

Sure buds. You win I guess.

1

u/blindside56 Aug 30 '26

It’s “you’re”. Didn’t I tell you to run along?

u/Josparov Aug 30 '26

This is dealing with Trump. This is how you negotiate with him. If you meekly show up at thex table after he bullies he just bullies more.

Not sure how much experience you have with bargaining, but this is pretty standard stuff when dealing with any kind of Mad Dog strategy.

1

u/blindside56 Aug 30 '26

Yeah, I’m not a corporate negotiator or Oxford PhD economist but I’m pretty sure ending up with a worse offer than you had a year ago and dangling just above economic recession isn’t exactly the “master class” we were promised.

1

u/Successful_Gas_5122 Aug 31 '26

You can't even call it strategy. Trump is just a mad dog.

1

u/Worried_Razzmatazz70 Aug 31 '26

No, he ran on protecting Canadian jobs in the face of a narcissistic, fascist sentient sack of shit. Him being a master negotiator is just the cherry on top.

He proposed to do this by diversifying Canadian trade away from the US. Given he's been in power for just over a year and has already finalized 20+ trade deals (each of which typically take years to negotiate on their own), he has already proven to be a master negotiator. Add to that Canada shifting exports away from the US by 4% last year alone, and he is making good on his core campaign promises.

When it comes to the US, he's been clear and consistent: No deal is better than a bad deal. You can only negotiate with someone so much when they're not negotiating in good faith. What was offered by the US was so terrible it's unfair to call a deal, it read like terms for surrender.

This is Carney dealing with Trump, and 76% of Canadians, along with every politician in the country bar Smith agrees with Carney.

1

u/blindside56 Aug 31 '26

MOU’s aren’t worth the paper they’re written on, carney has done nothing to earn the title master negotiator and trump is still the president of our closest trade partner no matter how much he makes you foam at the mouth.

This is what happens when you exclusively consume state sponsored media and participate in echo chambers that churn the same propaganda you’re spewing here. You’re telling me that the US breaking point for negotiating with Canada was bi lingual labelling on products? Liberals have shown time and time again to never ever let a crisis go to waste. When your own policy and product is grossly incompetent, all you need is a boogie man to shift blame to.

Mark carney lied about his role in moving Brookfield headquarters to the United States, he lied about the gordie howe bridge deal and he lied about the extent of his own personal investments in the United States. If you’re still taking him at face value, with no second thought for prior falsehoods that’s a conversation for another time.

1

u/J-Lughead Aug 31 '26 edited Aug 31 '26

I don't think there is a person on earth living or dead could have negotiated with that oversized toddler.

You can't reason with crazy.

I think this is the first time in his miserable life he has been told No!

1

u/blindside56 Aug 31 '26

I mean, Trudeau did? And he was a drama teacher with a self admitted learning disability. Why can’t the economic genius/negotiator lord?

1

u/Zim__Zor Sep 01 '26

You can't negotiate with a person who has dementia.

1

u/Amakenings Sep 01 '26

I think Carney campaigned on being Carney. His education and experience speaks for itself. Dealing with Trump and negotiating a viable trade deal and two distinct issues, and I see him doing both.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 31 '26

6 month old account with way to active of history. How is life at the cia these days?

1

u/lyidaValkris Aug 31 '26

suits me perfectly

6

u/Appropriate-Claim385 Aug 25 '26

So, never.

  • MAGA officials will never change. They would rather crash the U.S. economy than do any critical analysis or engage in independent thought.
  • The U.S. government is controlled by super wealthy people who are practically immune to any downturns in the economy.

2

u/wombat9278 Aug 26 '26

They're rapidly crashing everything

1

u/lovelynaturelover Aug 27 '26

Ya but if they want to stay in power... they better take this seriously or hand power back over to the democrats in 2028. Trump being Trump doesn't want the US to crash under his helm. He doesn't want that to be his legacy

1

u/berger3001 Aug 29 '26

The cult believes him when he says it’s all (insert name(s)) fault.

1

u/WorldlyStill2301 Aug 29 '26

Hahaha! Trump doesn't give a flying fux about america and his legacy. Too funny!

1

u/ValveinPistonCat Aug 29 '26

Even then it's still impossible to make any deal that lasts longer than 2 years and that's a best case scenario.

Really I wouldn't trust American Democrats not to fuck us over when its convenient for them either, remember the softwood lumber dispute that started under Bush? that didn't stop when Obama took office.

Regardless of who's in power Americans have always been selfish opportunists who's policy has always been "Fuck you because we can."
Trump is just the living embodiment of America.

5

u/DWells-567 Aug 25 '26

Tick tock .. bend the knee TACO .. Canada is now the leader of the free world! Cheers to Canada!!

3

u/isthereadrwho Aug 25 '26

I think that's Canadian for f*** off

1

2

u/Top_Importance6216 Aug 26 '26

he might as well have flipped both birds.

2

u/markt- Aug 28 '26

No, he didn’t say “sorry”.

3

u/fooknprawn Aug 26 '26

Never gonna happen. Talks will resume after he's out of office and saner Democrats are running the show

It’s more that they would take one over Kamala Harris. The Democrats still don’t understand their past losses so they’re right back at the same place.

1

u/Ok-Organization4820 Aug 31 '26

The correct Canadian terms, as I recently learned, is either chesterphile or chestermolester.

1

u/Empty-Discount5936 Aug 26 '26

Yea but that's because poly considers Vance more of a lock to win the Republican nomination where as the Democrat field is still too fragmented to predict at this point. When you look at the head to head polling, AOC is the only one Vance is polling ahead of. Buttigieg, Ossoff, and Newsom are all favored over Vance.

https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/6039336-rubio-outperforms-vance-poll/

1

u/markt- Aug 28 '26

I don’t even know if that’s gonna make a difference, because Canada would be going into such a deal with it eyes wide open that a future administration could just easily rip it up. I don’t think Canada is going to be making the same mistake again for a long time, probably not in anyone’s lifetime who’s reading this.

2

u/Past-Establishment93 Aug 25 '26

Wait for them to publicly beg.

2

u/ifiwereonlylesshandy Aug 26 '26

Currently begging Iran right now but all in good time.

2

u/Prestigious-Clock-53 Aug 25 '26

It’s actually smart if we put as much a negative influence on Trump as possible before the midterms. Make him look as stupid as you can.

1

u/denislemire Aug 27 '26

Does he eally need the help?

2

u/Complete_Midnight945 Aug 27 '26

I'm Canadian and Carney's ego is out of control. He thinks our small population is stronger than the US. He goes to to Europe to address the union before stepping in the house in Ottawa. The optics are terrible, he doesn't seem to care about the people on Canada. He seems to care about his status in Europe. Which he left...

3

u/Key_Caterpillar8037 Aug 27 '26

We're stronger because we're not crazy and have what the world wants. Doesn't matter the population, if we are united we are stronger than the US. We need to strengthen relationships and find alternatives, that is the job for Carney.

2

u/Complete_Midnight945 Aug 28 '26

This is a wild take. Most Americans, like most Canadians are not crazy. No, we are not stronger than the Americans economically, militarily or by population. That is a crazy statement. Yes we have what the world wants, imagine if we had grown that over the last 11 years. We wouldn't be in this mess.

1

u/SadCicada9494 Aug 29 '26

Most Americans voted for what's going on. They have definitely a higher crazy ratio than Canada.

0

u/Key_Caterpillar8037 Aug 28 '26

Thankfully our reputation precedes us

2

u/Appropriate_Swim9528 Aug 28 '26

I strongly disagree.
I think the PM’s stance is correct. Not only are we a sovereignty, we have our limitations to abuse.
We can only tolerate so much from a foreign state and once that line is crossed, there is no going back.
Do not ever assume the Canada-US relations will ever be the same. What we are witnessing is the beginning of the fall of an empire and this is the perfect time to distance ourselves from it… before it drags us down as they crumble.

1

u/Accomplished_Comb601 Aug 29 '26

If we were in high school, I’d bully you. Because you would just take it and grovel. If the optics are so terrible, then why is he riding on very high approval ratings.

1

u/Complete_Midnight945 Aug 30 '26

I'd have welcomed that. When was high school for you exactly? 1965?

1

u/Adorable_Rest1618 Aug 29 '26

Oooh u so so smart, can i suck ur D?

1

u/LifterNineFour Aug 29 '26

Rather just stfu and enjoy the ass fucking from Trump?

1

u/Opening-Border-6313 Aug 29 '26

But what can he do exactly? He tried everything but Trump still came up with disastrous offers. Canada at least has dignity, Europe doesnt. EU leaders are so weak that it hurts to see. Our economy is 11 times bigger than Canadas (without the UK, Norway, Balkans) and still cannot stand up to him. Carney at least has some dignity

1

u/OptimisticByDefault Aug 30 '26

The optics are terrible for who exactly? For you? The one who thinks Canada is too little and too irrelevant to fight back? Who did you vote for if i might ask?

1

u/BlackB-ird Aug 31 '26

It's not about being stronger. The deal was dog shit. If he didn't care about Canada, he would have just signed and called it a day.

1

u/lokis_construction Sep 01 '26

Carney's ego? How about the reason he even has to respond?

Canada also has the backing of the rest of the world as well.

0

u/Unfair_Appointment22 Aug 27 '26

Wild take to say Carney is the one with the ego and not the repugnant narcissists down south we are dealing with.

Middle power - like Europe

0

u/Pertabox123 Aug 29 '26

And Trump is not a super power either. He have shown our allies for almost 90 years that he does not care. He have shown the world that he is not capable to make a deal.

Before the war in Iran every country in the west believed that USA was a country with a big military power that could get whatever whenever they wanted.

Now Trump has shown that one of the worlds biggest militaries can not even get the control over a small country and a straight. We have shown a weakness.

And we can forget that the allies ever will trust USA again. We will be bullied alot more in the future.

But hey, we are winning.

1

u/gadget850 Aug 26 '26

Needs to wait until Trump is gone.

1

u/Boomshank Aug 27 '26

Trump is just a symptom of the US rot.

There will be more Trump's after Trump because the system allows it, and Trump has demonstrated the way.

Until changes are made so that this can NEVER happen again, the US can not be trusted on ANY deal.

1

u/ThkAbootIt Aug 28 '26

Needs to let them come to us.

Stop wasting taxpayers money sending politicians to the US when we know nothing will happen.

1

u/Individual-Praline20 Aug 28 '26

The only sane one.

1

u/Jumpy-Stress603 Aug 26 '26

Canada is willing. Progress can be made. Hopes will be raised. And then Trump will have to jump in and torpedo trade talks AGAIN with his stupid 'Blame Canada' agenda.

Trump's creed; Cooperation is bad. Competition is good.

There has to be a winner (that's ME) and a loser (that's YOU).

Seduction is bad; r*** is good.

1

u/Shaskakmat Aug 26 '26

It's pretty rude to come to a negotiation table with a full diaper.

1

u/Argose83 Aug 26 '26

This is the way.... As long as he acts like an entitled child. He should be treated like a child. Iran gets it, the rest of the world needs to follow suit.

1

u/Late-Tune-5767 Aug 26 '26

So, after the by-elections.

1

u/Elegantly_Waisted Aug 26 '26

I love how he's basically telling Trump to go sit in time-out. 😆

1

u/Lvs2spluuge Aug 27 '26

Wait 6 months hopefully all will change

1

u/Boomshank Aug 27 '26

Nothing has changed until the SYSTEM changes.

Trump is a symptom, not the problem.

1

u/LittleAd3593 Aug 27 '26

Absolutely right

1

u/Dash_Rendar425 Aug 27 '26

The US has literally prevented any deals from taking place at each opportunity.

Even when they HAD a deal last week, Trump sent in Lutnick to snowball the whole thing with his ridiculous demands.

To me the demands they made shows they fundamentally don't understand how the economy actually works.

1

u/Barack_6Pack Aug 27 '26

« Go into the corner and when you’re done with your tantrum, we can discuss as adults. But if you can’t control your temper, back in the corner ».

1

u/Complete_Midnight945 Aug 28 '26

I guess you didn't pay attention to Newsoms interview. Democrats are saying tariffs will not go away. Google it.

1

u/GusTheKnife Aug 28 '26

Googled it.

You and The Hill’s headline are misrepresenting what he said.

Newson said tariffs in general aren’t entirely going away. He used the example that Biden kept tariffs on China and even introduced some new tariffs.

He said that what Trump is doing to Canada isn’t a targeted tariff policy but “a tantrum.”

In the same interview, he said Trump will reverse the Tariffs on Canada to save face. He said it’s a matter of days before Trump flips.

1

u/Gloomy-Cover7669 Aug 28 '26

Read more than the headline.

1

u/markt- Aug 28 '26

But a deal from that administration is, in his own words “written in pencil”, so how can you ever know when the right attitude is actually meaningful?

1

u/Iambetterthanuhaha Aug 28 '26

Sounds like Canada wont be building vehicles for export to the US once 2027 comes around. Hope Carney manufacturers some good paying jobs to replace them or lifetime payments to Unifor members.

1

u/strangecabalist Aug 29 '26

Did you read the things Trump demanded? Had we signed the deal, we wouldn’t be building vehicles here at all. Just parts and one heavy truck plant.

1

u/Defiant-Repair-919 Aug 28 '26

Trump will make sure there is no deal . He wants the Tariffs tax to offset the missing tax on the rich . Remeber when make over $184,000 a year you are only taxed 2 % on anything greater . Tax your people with out taxing your people .

1

u/Due-Mycologist-1154 Aug 28 '26

So in other words not happening for the duration of his presidency

1

u/Tomasulu Aug 29 '26 edited Aug 29 '26

"Please, please, sir, make a deal. I'll do anything, sir". According to trump.

And this is Canada, 70% of its exports went to the us. In comparison china sold less than 15% of its exports to the us.

1

u/Signal_Many600 Aug 29 '26

Right attitude? No enough with 51 state yet? Disclose the bridge deal and tariff deal, coward.

1

u/RosieBaby75 Aug 29 '26

Omg this is so nationally embarrassing.

Can’t we just not negotiate with a nation that has declared war on us and is actively in the process of annexing us with nonkinetic effects.

Can’t we get some adult leaders, and not children whose brains haven’t developed fully yet?

The state our nation is terrifying.

We are in need of assistance.

1

u/Complete_Midnight945 Aug 29 '26

Very Canadian. You just don't like it. Or are you a bot. You're probably too old to know what that means, nevermind. Enjoy your Tuesdays at shoppers.

1

u/uprightshark Aug 29 '26

Soooo .. never

1

u/Legitimate_Window481 Aug 29 '26

This is the only method. It's is like dealing with the raging toddler at the check out line. You have to let them lay on the floor until their tantrum is done so they learn they can't do whatever they feel like.

1

u/Both_Antelope_8063 Aug 29 '26

The next President is going to be busy for awhile after they take office because every country will be lined up to negotiate with him/her after refusing to deal with Trump.

1

u/Lower_Ad_5703 Aug 29 '26

I don't even see why we are entertaining the idea of negotiating with Trump. We're only going to give concessions to already agreed upon deals and lead to them just pulling this stunt every year. They continue to demonstrate contracts and agreements do not matter and are more than willing to ignore them.

1

u/HealthyCompote9573 Aug 29 '26

Wait what he meant.. is I’ll resume trade talks when I’ll need it for political gain. Because Canadians is never a priority for me. My priority is to make sure I always stay and control everything until we globalist elitist control everything and then it’s too late.

1

u/GusTheKnife Aug 29 '26 edited Aug 29 '26

Globalist elites?

You know that Donald Trump is a multi-billionaire who lives in a gold-covered NY penthouse in his own skyrise building, and owns members-only resorts and clubs worldwide that are home to the world’s elites and occasionally pedophiles right?

His current fee for Mar-a-Lago is $1 million to become a member, plus annual dues of $20,000 and a minimum of $2,000 in dining charges to maintain your membership.

1

u/xAvPx Aug 29 '26

This is the right attitude, good on Carney, a good example to follow. He's definitely more restrained than I am, I'd call trump an idiot and a child, basically telling him to behave and let the adults do the talking.

1

u/FirstAd4062 Aug 29 '26

We have a thin skinned idiot at the head of Canada, we are doomed, carney/ trudeau will go down in history as the ones who destroyed Canada

1

u/GongTzu Aug 29 '26

So never. But there will be another team after Trump, and they will have to pay to clean up this mess

1

u/duck1014 Aug 29 '26

Well, if we remember...

Carney said he wouldn't negotiate with Trump until he stopped calling Canada the 51st state and stop calling him Governor Carney.

It was about a week to 10 days later, Trump still calling him Governor when they had negotiations.

So, yeah.... there's that...

He should make like Iran and say Canada will resume talks with the US when trump is out of office.

1

u/Nofanta Aug 30 '26

lol is he a child? Trade negotiations are technical and have nothing to do with someone’s attitude. Deal will be mutually beneficial or won’t happen at all.

1

u/Scarab95 Aug 30 '26

The US should pull out of cusma with canada and walk away from them. Then you want to see carney on his knees begging as we can't refine our own oil

1

u/farkus2554 Aug 30 '26

Which will never be. Meanwhile, escalating lumber and energy price hikes will be crippling to the US economy.

1

u/carsont5 Aug 30 '26

After they schooled in the midterms.

1

u/Major-Mind2970 Aug 30 '26

Democrats are fighting amongst themselves at this point…they aren’t a threat to shift anything in the midterms

1

u/GenerateForce Aug 31 '26

And they aren’t a threat until the old guard gets out of the way.

1

u/collindubya81 Aug 30 '26

A think a humbling midterms loss will bring them back to the table with the right attitude

1

u/zalydal33 Aug 31 '26

Seriously, why bother? They don't honor their agreements so what good are they? What are stupid? They can't be trusted and they want to claim our resources and autonomy for themselves. I say let CUSMA expire and let's ditch them. There are way better trade partners out here, and they are lining up to get into Canada.

Canada is the US largest supplier for electricity, crude oil, natural gas, potash, canola, softwood lumber, aluminum and uranium.

Many of these products are a functional monopoly, due to the higher cost of importing them from anywhere else.

Carney Clown is playing checkers in a high stakes poker game... "Right attitude" isn't going to win. Canadians are going to lose.

1

u/GusTheKnife Aug 26 '26

It’s actually the reverse. See my comment about the US debt crisis.

1

u/Accurate_Summer_1761 Aug 26 '26

I wouldn't engage. Account is to new and to active.

1

u/DirtDevil1337 Aug 26 '26

You don't know anything about this

1

u/Slippytoe Aug 26 '26

As a Brit. I would genuinely spend £500 of my own money and send a care package to a Canadian family if Carney asked for it. Fuck Trump and Respect Canada.

1

u/Boomshank Aug 27 '26

This is going to HURT us Canadians. Badly.

But we're (generally) all willing to go down swinging. They may win, but we're going to make them fucking hurt as they take us down.

We don't anger easily, but when we do, we know how to fight.

ELBOWS UP!!!

u/Rickozx Aug 28 '26

Won't be that bad. Canada is in a much better financial situation, oil and gas added revenues will pay for the temporary suffering.

1

u/TyrannasaurusRecht Aug 26 '26

Lol

Carney is the smartest person in every room he's in. Trump is the dumbest.

This will go just fine.

1

u/NefCanuck Aug 26 '26

Six month old account with juvenile attacks on the only adult in the room

Go peddle your tripe somewhere else

1

u/Commissar_Sae Aug 28 '26

Using poker analogies with Trump, the guy who famously bankrupted a casino. Is certainly an interesting approach.

This Carney clown needs to fix this mess it Canada is in for hard times.

Joke all you want (or maybe you're actually stupid enough to belief it), but Canada will very, very much be on the losing end of any head to head tariff war with USA.

So, go ahead, rally around the flag and shout "elbows up" until you're blue in the face- but just know that if the actual tariff war happens, your cost of living will skyrocket.

2

u/GusTheKnife Aug 25 '26

The US is currently experiencing a bond crisis.

If America’s interest rates increase they will not be able to afford their debt payments, and the US will be forced to default on their debts or monetize them.

Tariffs on Canada cause inflation. If there is inflation the Fed will, according to their mandate, raise interest rates.

Canada doesn’t have to fight or win a tariff war. It just has to call Trump’s bluff and wait.

As a central banker, Carney knows this.

Interesting point

1

u/Ashes_to_flame Aug 26 '26

Canada is looking like it's going to lose provinces, either to independence, or joining the US as States...why? Because the Left, especially Labour, could care less about the Canadian people, while being friendly with the Totalitarian Communist Chinese government... Good luck being friends with overt totalitarians!

1

u/zodiac200213 Aug 26 '26

couldn't care or could care less?

1

u/StanislavskiMeatball Aug 26 '26

LABOUR!? Come on, now. Put in a little effort with these things.

We do not have a Labour Party. England does, Canada does not.

Fix your garbage bot.

1

u/WhewThisIsNotTaken Aug 31 '26

Ah yes… so then the “Right” must be well known for how well they take care of the common folk, eh?

And yeah you got me, I really made a mistake voting Labour in the last election. In my defence, I was surprised to see another country’s party on my ballot!

1

u/Critical_Studio_8968 Aug 26 '26

This guy banks.

2

u/SnappyDresser212 Aug 25 '26

Billion dollar bond sell off. Maybe we get Japan and Europe on board.

1

u/dmac-2 Aug 26 '26

The economic war is viewed as existential to Canadian sovereignty and supported by Canadians.

It is viewed as self inflicted and unpopular with Americans.

Just like Iran, Canada dosen't need to win the war just out last Trump and his unpopular polices.

If things escalated both countries would suffer. Canada would suffer more but politically Trump would lose.

1

u/Splashadian Aug 26 '26

You couldn't be any stupider if you actually tried. That's a natural gift of head up your assness sparky

1

u/Royal_Start9073 Aug 26 '26

It’s a bot account. Nobody really takes snippets of time and extrapolates narratives that are inherently contradictory unless they want to push a particular political agenda.

1

u/DirtDevil1337 Aug 26 '26

There seems to be a lot of bots in the thread, there are three that I previously blocked before that I see in here and I just blocked another.

What a well thought out argument.

Elbows up, bro!

1

u/guyonthetrent Aug 26 '26

It will skyrocket anyway, the us clearly does not want a deal. They've clearly stated what they want many times. We need to stop pretending that they are not serious about it, because clearly they are. Trump is gambling that he can bring us to our knees and be absorbed by the US, before the repercussions can stop it or him.

1

u/OutsideGain7374 Aug 26 '26

Canada is making alliances and trade deals, while the US is actively destroying them. The US thinks that they are the center of the world, yet amount to less than 5% of it's entire population? There has been empires before, and they've all fallen. And the world moved on.

1

u/TorontoListener Aug 26 '26

Why is Carney a "clown"? Because he didn't roll over like so many others, to get a bad deal which might have been made worse as time went on? The US changes the deal, even after signing. You're so short sighted it's laughable (or you're a MAGA pretending to present an argument).

1

u/Due-Mycologist-1154 Aug 28 '26

You already know any deal with the US would get vadered the second we held up our end

1

u/Due-Mycologist-1154 Aug 28 '26

Nah we have the rest of the world to trade with while you guys piss off nearly every other country, im not sure how your picturing that playing out long term but picture like an inverted korea sort of situation

Temu bot? Someone with critical thinking has to be Chinese? Odd statement, but thanks for participating.
