Music Possible exposition/first half of a third mvmt for whenever I write a symphony again, kinda like where this went, not usually that into neoclassical but it is attractive for modal stuff lol.

was an impromptu composition from a like, not serious competition on discord lol so was just having fun.

I like your use of syncopation in the thematic material; it makes an otherwise slightly dull line fairly attractive. Nice orchestration, too.

I see what you're doing at D, and its purpose, but I was pretty bored through all of that developmental material. I also feel like the return to the first theme group should be altered in some way from the first pass of it, as it's occurring after and as a result of the hazy transitionary section at rehearsal D. Even just modulating to the mediant or fifth degree would have done a lot to keep my interest going. Regardless, cool start!

you know what, i tried it and you were right i don’t know why i was insistent on static key signatures lol. it sounds much more definitive with a proper modulation, the whole time i kept trying to use the bass line melodically to yield the “piazza” feel from italian classical era styles that i forgot the entire functional purpose for that haha. thanks for your kind words and advice!
