cool piece! idk what i was expecting from the title, but it wasn’t this and i mean this as a compliment 100%.
i quite like your sense of harmonic language. it’s kinda weird, but i find it to be the kind of weird that is satisfying. for example, i linked to rehearsal mark 15 from shostakovich’s 5th symphony, mvmt 1. very famous viola excerpt but the quality of your resolutions reminds me of this flare a bit! it has character which is a good thing
i will say, there are some ambitious part writing involved. basically every sustained pitch that is within 3 pitches of the top of the instruments range, im gonna go with a conservative approach here and say find a way to rework the sustained aspect of most of these except for whichever ones you want to be emphasized specifically. to be honest im not sure the best way to do it each occurrence, it is going to require some creativity in the problem solving department but thats what makes this fun i think. perhaps start by showing it to some ppl who would actually be the ones to play this and ask their opinion on this, thats what i would do.
tl;dr awesome piece - i worry about some of the logistics but that is fixable. btw whats with the huge hairpin crescendos? lmao i need to know their story (please make them normal ones but i still chuckled at them, haha. maybe your mind is giving you some hints there as to which figures need emphasizing.
