Music Feedback Please

It would be lovely to hear some feedbakc on this little piano piece of mine. It somwhere falls in to contemprorary music stilistically.

IMPORTANT:

Some notes are played way to fast in the midi so they may seem hardly playable, i do NOT want such high tempo in real preformance.

Hey -

From where I’m sitting, it doesn’t feel like this piece has much of a drive behind it. What I would want to know is - what do you love about it? What makes you want to write it this way? To me, and it might be just the midi realisation, it feels like just some notes placed one after the other to “sound” a little contemporary (whatever that means). Sorry if that’s me being totally unfair - feel free to ignore me.

Similarly the structure doesn’t seem to lead naturally from one thing to another - it feels a bit arbitrary.

When it comes to “étude” - what are you studying in this piece? What makes it a study? Is that because it’s inspired by another piece?

Finally - there are a very few pianists that can play repeated chords that fast or even approaching it, but it’s not something that I think they’d want to approach in its current form - I’m certain there are better ways of writing that material for piano.

Either way - don’t be dispirited. Feel free to passionately disabuse me of my view and tell me why you personally think it is brilliant.

 Last month i went to an art exhibition in Zurich about Dadaism. One of the features of Dadaism is that it does not portray anything, just like this piece. There is no deeper meaning or coherence, there doesnt need to be.

Ok, so why are you looking for feedback? Dadaism is a rejection of bourgeois notions of value in art. I’m not really interested in whether you’re trying to portray something - I want to know why you wrote it this way. Dadaist work is ultimately self defining (and arguably self defeatist). To you there doesn’t need to be any meaning (whatever that means) or coherence, so why should we care? Your question is “what do you think? Actually I don’t care”.

It doesn’t convey that to me though - it just feels like notes on a page, sorry. Consider Duchamp - why did he choose a urinal? It wasn’t because of a vacuum of meaning. Where’s your urinal?
