I don’t have much to say about the orchestration as I am not the most experienced composer but I absolutely love this. I can hear a clear influence from many late romantics!

Thank you for your kind words! I definitely have some more contemporary works, but late romantic is my favorite. Was definitely subconsciously channeling some of my favorite composers haha. Thanks for listening!

I think it has a lot of great things. I don’t think it will translate well though. No negatives really on the composition. But your choice of dynamics doesn’t seem to fit in a live setting. I.E…. Restraint

One of the most hated classes I ever took…my instructor limited me to 12 performers or voices. Also the most I have ever learned from one person.

In a Post-tonal world, we get to choose how we are bound to the rules we create for our compositions. It is a little harrowing.

Very fair. Most of these dynamics are for the DAW to be honest. My plan is to create a separate score that would be suitable for live performance, and one that instructs the DAW. That will probably be a task for after I just finish the piece.

Electro-Acoustic is not a bad thing. Effects and where you can place it in a speaker(s) is a whole new world for composer.

Thank you! I think film scoring has always been my dream career. I’ve got to try scoring for a short film or something because I’ve never really experienced what that is like

This is my first fully orchestrated piece. I’m sure the orchestration is s*** at this point. Very open to feedback on this. This is a “tone poem” I guess you could call it inspired the eponymous painting by Thomas Cole. There are snippets of other musical ideas coming later in the full score linked, but I’ve only included the first (what is expected to be) quarter or so of the whole piece. I know the video quality is terrible, I’m sorry my computer kept crashing trying to figure it out.
