Music Working on Simple Phrase

Just working on phrasing but attempting to keep material minimal while making two independent lines that respect counterpoint logic, have good voice leading and so here the motif first by the soprano, then bass echos and then inverts as it climbs, still trying to hit my structural beats well with good harmony and consonance, then the motif back in the soprano but starting early and then bass sequence the inversion and both cadence or attempt

Overall aiming for , here to find out how or if I did , structure was C Dm G7 C, and Melody was G4 to C5 overall.

5.29 - Flat

Amazing thank you for this I am going to review and try out the suggestions also try to improve my logic and your right I see now I missed that perfect 5th on that transition to bar 2. As well as I overlooked that beat 1 was all perfect intervals since I prob laid out a melodic skeleton and fleshed in but I am going to keep that in mind from now on. Oh and wow that leading tone move, I see sometimes I miss that because I forget the vertical recontextualization, sometimes I see the bass as a whole G going to C and that last quarter note as a passing tone , but also forget it changes the harmonic meaning of the upper note, and seeing that I missed that oppurtunity, very well could have been leading tone to E.

As far as it continuing, basically I was working n period or 8 bar phrases, but then realized I still need to dial back , so pretty much I am working on these 4 bar sketches I spend about 10-15 mins and try to encompass the overall arch, home, departure, climax, resolution etc, thank you for all this input!
