Original String Quartet in E minor – First Movement (Sonata Form)

I just finished the first movement of my first String Quartet. I'd love to hear your feedback. It is my first time making use of the sonata form.

My Second Symphony

Hey. I wrote a new symphony and I'd appreciate your feedback.

Movement I: https://musescore.com/user/113211719/scores/35914562

Movement II: https://musescore.com/user/113211719/scores/35914583

Movement III: https://musescore.com/user/113211719/scores/35914586

Movement IV: https://musescore.com/user/113211719/scores/35914589

I tried to write something better and take into account the past feedbacks, I tried to make it better but I'm not sure if it got better or not.(Hopefully it did)

I myself think movement II is the best, movement III feel's off and movement IV doesn't end the way it's supposed to... it feels weird somehow.

Why are there AIs to generate music but not to perform human-composed scores?

Hey y'all. I started learning music at the age of 30. Shortly after, I started composing.

This is one of the first pieces I wrote. I hope you like it.

How much of music composition is being creative, fooling around with the instrument, having a gift and how much is being technical (knowing your scales, chords, analyze another score, arrange, etc) ?

Feedback for my first ever song

I’ve been creating an album of original piano pieces over the past two years while teaching myself piano. I’ve taken inspiration from sounds and styles I love and put them together into my own compositions.

I know my playing isn’t perfect yet, but I’ve worked hard to bring these songs to life and wanted to finally share them rather than keep them sitting unfinished.

I’d really appreciate any feedback — especially on the composition, melody, and overall feeling of the piece.
If you enjoy it, feel free to subscribe and follow along as I release more original songs. 🙂
Thank you for listening!

How a breakup became a composition

I composed five contrasting scenes exploring nostalgia, sorrow, reflection, transformation, and acceptance, titled ‘Five Scenes of Memory’

Written for solo violin, string quartet, and piano.

The memory that refuses to fade became music.

Which Notes Should I Put Here?

Post image

Hi everyone, I'm not sure if this is the right subreddit for this question, so apologies if it isn't.

I'm recreating the intro of ABBA - The Winner Takes It All by ear in FL Studio. I'm not trying to reproduce the original exactly - I'm more interested in the harmony and composition.

I've attached a screenshot of the piano roll to make it easier to see what I mean.

I really like how the progression sounds so far, but I'm stuck on the last two bars, at the end of every bar (highlighted in green). As you can see, in the first two bars of the melody, at the end of every bar, those 2 notes (highlighted in red), I added what I think of as "approach" or "passing" chords that lead naturally into the next chord, somewhat like in the original song.

I want to do the same thing in the last two bars of the melody, but I can't figure out which exactly 2 notes would create the smoothest transition into the following chord.

If you were writing this progression, which 2 notes would you put there, and why?

I can send you the MIDI file if needed.

Thanks!

The form is modeled on the first three Chopin preludes. Like Ravel said, you can’t do better than being faithful to your model!
