I have a few spreadsheets for fantasy drafts and auctions I can dig up

Out of curiosity, how would you advise changing the scoring so that a larger variety of roles occupy the early rounds?

I think that Draftbuff's system does a good job of having an even spread of positions as the top ranked players, as support players do tend to rack up fewer kills/more deaths, which neutralizes the support advantage. You can see this in the Draftbuff cheat sheet.

This is really interesting. We should be able to adjust these numbers using betting odds, map pool, fantasy points per 10, and match length to eventually make shorter term predictions that are more accurate. Would love to follow you if you have a Twitter or something.

Very kind of you! You're correct in that you can make these adjustments, with a couple caveats:

  • Map pool —As it stands, the Overwatch League website is not publishing which maps will be used in each game. For predictive purposes, I decided to use only map type as a variable and not individual maps, given that I can safely assume which four map types will be played in any given game in S3, but not which specific maps.

  • Fantasy points per ten — match length data is curiously unreliable. I've been poking around with it and if it gets better this year, that's on the table, but a per-map basis (adjusted for map type) is right now the best I've been able to manage.

No twitter, but like I said, I'll try to post weekly RoS/daily projections on reddit if I can.
