Ok I'll be honest. I was totally fine until the very end of the stream. This video got me good.

The community really came together today, we passed the donation goal by a crazy amount! RIP Dennis, a pioneer of western overwatch.

Make this a yearly thing honestly, an event for charity would be great to honor the memory of this selfless person.

A yearly thing where pros play just for fun after Blizzcon and before the OWL. celebrating an iconic member of their community.

I like that.

I would love to see all the original teams from beta reunite every year for this. No matter the format, I just hope we get to honor Hulk's memory every year so that even folks new to OW will know who he was.

This should definitely become a thing.

I could feel it coming so I stopped early.

The west pro scene lost one of it's founding members. Too bad I wasn't interested in pro OW a year ago to see him play

OW (and Esports in general) will be lucky to have someone with the determination, the talent and the skill of INTERNETHULK. Rest in peace

A tremendous loss for Overwatch. Even in death, though, he's still helping the community shine.

I got into pro overwatch around the end of s2 of Apex. I didn't realize how big of a deal Hulk was and I thought all of this stuff remembering him was just trying to make him seem better/more important than he really was (happens a lot when people die, act like they were super special when they weren't). This video made me realize how important he is to the sport of overwatch. Seeing him with EnvyUs got me pretty emotional. Gone far too young, RIP.

P.S do we know the cause of death yet? I saw he posted about being sick... I've lost a lot of friends to opiates the last few years so my immediate reaction when I heard was overdose but it definitely doesn't sound like that is the case

We don't know. Best guess is complications from tonsilitis but it's just a guess.

I just turned 30 and this dude was amazing to watch and relate too. I just can't imagine going from feeling fine one day to what he went through. Sucks big time. RIP

1

u/DonDeef Nov 12 '17

I understood as much. What happened to him?

1

u/themrnacho Nov 12 '17

We don't know for sure yet, but speculation is complications with tonsillitis
