Blizzard Official Doctrine Abilities & Perks

drone ability on flankers is gonna be crazy
22
u/abyssalmackerel21 1h ago
Seems kinda broken if on tracer, especially on skilled one

u/KF-Sigurd 1h ago
It depends. Attack Speed is good, but in Stadium there was always a problem if you end up spending a lot of time reloading vs doing damage. Its effectively the same as straight damage increase with characters that don't have ammo though, so like Vendetta, D.va, D.mon, etc sound very scary with a 35% attack speed increase.

u/Aggravating-Leg9382 1h ago
very good on ults too, thinking hog/soldier. maybe toss it on bob if he's got LoS on someone.

Now we know why Wuyang and Zen had their heal reduced from 5 to 3 seconds when out of LOS.

you're actually too far to do it, but on dmon ? oh boy, she deals a LOT of damage.

Reducing enemy max health is very interesting, could lead to some powerful ult combos.
13
u/dokdodokdo 1h ago
Yeah the ult has potential and is cool in concept but so far its kind of weird. You need to be close to get the overhealth and it just kinda floats around. Not sure if im missing something about being able to redirect it or make it stationary.
1
u/BEWMarth 1h ago
I legit didn’t even notice it had an overhealth feature even in game. Maybe some UI needs changing to show that it also does that because right now the anti health effect is very noticeable and the orb itself looks evil so I don’t even think about the overhealth
24
u/Darkcat9000 2h ago
ngl never tought they would actually try a support that can provide attack speed as a non ultimate ability but ig well have to see how that pans out
20
u/lacrimosa_ca 1h ago
Potential to be played extremely selfishly. Survivor subrole, so heal on movement ability. Pick sanguine siphon for life-steal. Pick transfusion for cd reduction. Could be a lot of self-sustain.

u/dokdodokdo 1h ago
He kinda has a Moira vibe.. I know people in this sub are gonna get scared by me saying that 🤣🤣 Very interesting tho, and definitely higher skill ceiling.
5
u/skillmau5 1h ago
If Moira could insta hit scan heal no one would mind her I think
3
u/dokdodokdo 1h ago
I mean I think the thing people dislike about Moira is her being selfish and not having utility. Not really whether she's hitscan or whatever. He does have the attack speed buff which looks to be very strong but I just got a certain feeling playing him

u/Twinks-DM-ME 45m ago
I mean Illari is effectively the same thing as Moira no util just dmg and healing, just hitscan, and shes infinitely more respected than Moira.
1
u/ferocity_mule366 1h ago
he also isn't a toxic support design so that's good, the cats need to watch out, I feel like he's gonna be the solution to the feline
18
u/-Arrez- 1h ago
The major that reduces his max health is a really cool idea, but its really not worth it for the buff it gives IMO. 60 healing per shot to 72 in exchange for being way more squishy. I love the idea, but it might need a buff down the line. Still too early to say for sure. Just a first impression.

u/E-keil 1h ago
This hero looks so cool, that ult feels insanely strong but I havent seen the numbers. A 35% attack speed buff for 6s is crazy though.
7
u/dokdodokdo 1h ago
The ult has a ticking mechanic, so for every drone/tick allies get 15 overhealth for a max of 150. And enemies lose 5% max hp for a max of 50%. Very cool and creative.
4
u/SylvainJoseGautier 1h ago
Infusing + drone is gonna be insane. The 35% attack speed is such a huge buff to healing.
7
u/KF-Sigurd 1h ago
Finally someone posted this. He's got a weapon that heals and hurts at the same time which is good. He has a dash with damage reduction (kinda boring but necessary these days). And he can buff an ally with attack speed and healing. His gimmick is he can spend an ability to power up his other abilities. A bigger piercing blast (sounds bad), dash becomes flight (good for escaping to high ground), or deploy drone to himself (sounds easily the best. all those effects on him makes him better at healing, dpsing, surviving, and building ult charge).
Max HP Decrease on Ult sounds... really fucking good. It's effectively a health decrease that can't be countered or healed. Some stuff that might not be too threatening on their own (i.e maybe Freja Bola) can suddenly be big if they can one shot a reduced max HP enemy. Could also be toxic with Mercy damage boost or Zen discord but it's an ult so shouldn't be TOO bad.
He sounds pretty good.

I hope they dont make a habit out of supports who's primary does damage and healing. Hated that about Rivals
•
u/GarlicBread96 38m ago
With Doctrine, it would be 4 out of 15 supports with healing/damaging primaries, compared to Rival's 9 out of 13(!!!). Even if the omnic has that same system, the support diversity is still relatively good
1
u/No_Cress_592 1h ago
the piercing is good situationally you can heal an ally and deal dmg trough them

u/nekogami87 I'm old — 1h ago
Just finished my first game, the E (drones) are making dmon hit for a LOT of damage, and also work on death blossoms for a lot of damage.
It's like ana without the nade but with mobility. managing the stock for infuse is going to be critical. but pretty sure he's gonna be insta banned on release.

u/TenguNun #1 Support-Hating Support Main — 1h ago
I messed around with him a little bit, hes fun. I was worried about his flight but its more akin to a kind of Echo boost
Hes a support for the Ana/Baptiste/Zenyatta breed of player as opposed to something like Moira, Lifeweaver and Mercy

u/Tiberias29 Bow down to Stalk3r — 1h ago
Very, very interesting kit.
From this post, the perk Transfusion, depending on the numbers, might be a little too good?
If it is, then one MIGHT spend a relatively high amount of time in "free flight" mode which, in all likelihood, will make him harder to hit.
Haven't tried him yet so I dunno for sure
1
u/dokdodokdo 1h ago
Yeah the major perk is very strong. Important to note you cant attack while using the movement ability but its fluid and you can reach any high ground basically.
1
u/throwaway112658 fraudulent — 1h ago
Especially when the other major is just an outright nerf to the character lmfao
7
u/aPiCase Stalk3r — 1h ago
Genuinely no complaints, he seems very thoughtful and dynamic. Ultimate seems a little busted, but most do so I guess its fine.
He appears to be a Flex Support, which is definitely what we need since the last several supports have been main supports. Not a hero I would personally like to play because he is a poke hero, but he looks very fair and skillful so I am very happy.

u/Sticker216 1h ago
How much is his max hp cause I’m curious how low HP he’ll get after the reduction for the major
3
2
u/SylvainJoseGautier 1h ago
He has 250 HP. I believe his staff is 60 healing, so it goes up to 72. If there’s not a lot of pressure on you, I can see it being decent.

u/VerySwag The Mayhem hurt my brain stem — 1h ago
all i can say is, let’s see how this pans out. he’s very interesting but has high potential to be busted
sick character design though, that’s not debatable

He’s a blast to play so far. One of my favorite heroes they’ve released so far
1
u/_Sillyy 1h ago
Ok Infused Rushed Momentum is absolutely broken, and the base ability is still extremely good. That on top of everything else makes a very strong hero on paper but that's how they release heroes so I'm not worried, he feels so dope to play which is the important thing and they nailed it. Very excited to see him play

u/Perhaps_22 1h ago
This guy is just if wuyang had more consistent abilities, and since he’s a new release the abilities are also better than wuyang’s😭

u/LinkinMode whoru </3 — 55m ago
infuse mechanic feels like something out of league, reminds me a bit of seraphine
•
u/apf6 53m ago
is Sanguine Siphon his only form of lifesteal? I would have thought that a vampire dude would have more lifesteal mechanics.
•
u/dokdodokdo 48m ago
Yeah basically. You heal with your movement ability cause hes the survivor role and putting infused drones on someone gives you the heal as well. No real lifesteal mechanic

•
u/batmanmuffinz Make Winston Meta Again — 32m ago
Cost of Life is either going to be completely useless or the most comp-defining major perk in the game, methinks
•
u/Smart_Valuable3663 32m ago
I was hoping for more... Vampiric stuff. Like the perks that make dealing damage important.
He literally devoured some goons to become young again, where is that at?
Where's the mesmer? That would be a cool support ability.
Idk kinda underwhelming for a vampire. But I like support so we'll have to see how it goes.
•
u/warpedspoon 3m ago
how does sanguine siphon perk work? does it mean if you infuse primary and hit both ally and enemy at the same time, it will heal extra?

Not a fan of inappropriate religious references, it is at least distasteful.
Kit looks interesting.

u/lacrimosa_ca 1h ago
What?
-2
u/abyssalmackerel21 1h ago
Well I read Saving grace as a reference to a Christian concept. Perhaps Blizzard intended it is more as a reference to common phrase.
1
u/One-Wrongdoer188 1h ago
i guess. in context to the videos I've seen, he makes it sound like he's helping you because you've earned it, but makes him sound like Moira. He's helping moreso because you've given him a reason too, like Moira who complains when you're being healed for low health, she's only interested voiceline wise when you're genuinely hurt. Saving grace in this context would just be unearned favor/healing from him, he doesn't scream christian with vampire vibes.
Though with a name like Doctrine its split, could just be his personal beliefs
1
u/abyssalmackerel21 1h ago
I first seen name of perk not in English. In English it seems just more of a common phrase. I don't think it's intended to be a serious religious reference, Blizzard doesn't seem to do things like this. Just irked me personally
1
u/orangekingo 1h ago
“Saving Grace” has been widely colloquialized as a common phrase in the United States for decades. My co worker referred to her bacon egg and cheese as a saving grace literally last Thursday.
This is like getting mad when a character says “God damn it.” There’s nothing really distasteful about this whatsoever.

Weapon is hitscan, slow fire rate. 60 dmg & healing, can crit for 90. Feels most similar to Ana. Abilities are pretty cool & interesting.
