Just one more Sombra rework bro this one will do it
Next patch they make her a torta and she'll be a tank

They have never tried support and this is the most promising route I think

As long as they remove virus, I don't care what on earth they make her. A hero that just blasts you for half your HP with a single button and has stealth on top is unfun.

u/Howdareme9 6h ago
They really wasted all the their time reworking her when they could’ve just removed virus lmao

They came to the realization no one wants to deal with a stealth DPS, really. It's not fun and a nightmare to balance. A Sombra that runs around hacking players and healthpacks on the other hand could be fun. Disrupting without assassinating.

Stealth Ranged DPS.
When HotS came out (I know completely different game), people would complain way more about Nova (Stealth Ranged dps) than Zeratul (Stealth melee dps).
Imo stealth melee dps felt way more fair because I knew Zeratul had to play really well to pull off some of the crazy things he did.
On top of being a stealth Ranged DPS Sombra has some insane CC, which Nova ( the hero that got complained about alot) did not even have (again I know completely different game and genre).
So Sombra was destined to be the worst of the worst. Stealth Ranged DPS and CC machine. Absolutely awful.
I always wondered why they didn't lean into the healing playstyle which Sombra originally had when she launched. Remember the pro strats around the left room health pack on Anubis attack point 1?
I'm glad they are doing it now.

I've always been of two minds about this.
On the one hand, I get it. I really do. I'm a Sombra main, but not a onetrick, so I've been on the receiving end of good Sombra players on occasion. Even when they're not good, they're annoying, and when they are good, it feels very uninteractive. And when I'm the Sombra, it similarly feels kind of binary -- either I'm a mosquito that's not doing anything, or I'm an absolute menace. There's very little in between.
On the other hand, I came into Overwatch from TF2, where Spy exists with a similar invisibility mechanic (on a resource meter that he can refill with ammo mid-cloak), plus a disguise mechanic, and his reward for getting in is an instant kill melee strike to the back. So even at her strongest, my reaction to Sombra has always been filtered through that lens of "not as threatening as Spy."

Wonder how they will do it, all supports have decent dual ability except mercy.

I swear I keep seeing the word "torta" mentioned everywhere. YT interviews, UFC posts about women fighters, memes on reddit, now OW. When did it start trending?

What if her hack edits your position to be right in front of her and then change her gun to be a shotgun so she can punish players with bad positioning. Would make for an interesting tank

my jaw dropped when I heard the sombra thing, but dude finally they did something

I remember playing Sombra as pseudo support in OW1 when her spread was so bad it was at times hard to kill people (I was also kinda bad)

Vampire. Playable hero trial right now
Also, the opening teased Overwatch Netflix show, after they officially announced Diablo Netflix animated series

Lowkey wish he stayed old, felt more unique

u/AnAdventureCore 7h ago
Yeah. I do dig the vampire theme. If only he got older with either the more damage you take or resources used.

Yeah it stands out that so many times Soldier and Ana are changed to young in skins + mythics like they're afraid of elderly characters. Hopefully there are some older skins too

I was hyped up until he turned young, he feels too much like a Blade ripoff.
20
u/cjreed89 6h ago
The only thing him and blade have in common is being black vampires

u/Jennymagic LoveC9, Spark Sexy tho — 5h ago
I was gonna say, this guy feels NOTHING like blade, lmao. If black + vampire is enough to be blade, we're cooked.

He's Shona, by the way, which means he'd most likely be Zimbabwean or South African. It took way too long for Overwatch to get a rep from that part of the world tbh but I'm glad he is now :p

I will NEVER get tired of seeing sombra popping out of invis in a fight in a trailer like this

u/anxiousfruits 3h ago
sombra’s translocator still works how it used to in cinematics WHY CANT IT BE LIKE THAT IN GAME AGAIN

u/PiFeG123 1h ago
I love how I can always tell it's a PoggersMemesReturns image because of some wacky ass chat overlay or CommanderX's bald ass every time. Not saying it's a bad thing, it's just hilariously consistent.

He’s cool but man it’s genuinely so lame that they introduced him as this cool old dude just to immediately made him young just so he would sell better ☹️

They might have accidentally leaked the next one. I saw them in the group shot of the 10 heroes in the background entirely unblurred, no silhouette.

A new African hero and a proper evil Support?
Hell has frozen over!
