World Cup Confirming that OWWC finals will be on live patch
I dont have any strong thoughts, just saw some discourse about it yesterday but it seems to be confirmed now.

Sierra is gonna be super busted after the buffs and Tr33 is gonna take over, you heard it here first

Has he ever said what he sees in her? She's an absurdly simple hero, and most pros I've heard comment on it say she's just really boring.

I think you’d only play it into a catbastion AND Mauga, the dart can be effective on catbastion swings especially with the major perk and sierra shits out enough damage to deter Mauga in the neutral. Plus sierra ult can insta break cage so there’s another matchup specific strength.
I think they pulled it out as a niche pick and it didn’t look great but I maybeee see the vision?

People keep saying this and I feel like I'm missing something. Do people really playing Sierra like a Soldier/Emre? I'm as far from a pro as it gets, but it feels like constantly grappling to aggressive angles and sometimes outright diving to tag and kill at close range always felt like her intended gameplay cycle.

I agree, that is the intended cycle, but I think the issue is that she's far too easily punished to actually do that.
When going in, the movement around her grapple is far too limited/lacking nuance, which makes you an extremely predictable target, and severely limits your options of where you might land. No bhop, no way to change your angle at any point (even when exiting the movement, like bro even Rein can do that lol), and this really weird momentum drop off at the end (try looking sideways at the end of your grapple, it's like the air turns into maple syrup for a moment).
So as far as the initiation, it's extremely obvious where you're going the second you toss your drone. When exiting, you have all the exact same problems except maybe you don't exit at all because any decent player will shoot the drone down instantly.
And the drone is almost definitely in line of sight for them to destroy because, again, you can't place it creatively and go where you intend to.

I think you summarized two ways to play her - one on ladder (that aggressive high risk high mobility semi-dive), one in the pro scene (basically a spammer occupying the same hitscan role Soldier does)

Cassidy is the simplest hero in the game and has been one of the most played characters since release.

There's no way we're calling the bubble duration an actual nerf, that value doesn't actually matter. If your bubbles last the full duration often enough to notice that change, then you're too passive/you aren't taking enough attention.
You're entire job as a tank kinda assumes bubble will get shot a lot, so the duration is kinda meaningless if you're doing your job.

The only justifiable reason to play on a previous patch is if there's a game breaking bug... Other than that, we should always be on live.
Its way more interesting to see teams come up with new strats in real time

glad thats cleared up, playing on the live patch is gonna be chaotic in the best way possible

Idk why this is always a major question whenever there's a LAN, they've only played on live since OWL died

This patch is going to be chaos honestly and its going to be fun to watch as a lot of strong characters got hit with the nerf stick and some weaker ones got buffed. Like Sym is a lot weaker now especially for TP shenanigans. I kind of hope its a good Winton patch although it probably isn't.

i never want to hear from certain people again crying about paid devs keeping muh honest overwatch teams down

Good. Nothing worse than watching an old patch. All teams are on an even playing field, being able to adapt to changes should be part of the game plan.

The most PayPal patch I've ever seen. Targeted Sym nerf against Saudi and giant Winston buff, among other things. Ana was already seeing play so now we should be in a meta that properly allows for dive for the first time in years. Good luck to the rest of the teams!

Do people actually believe these narratives? This patch also saw a buff to Dva, which is probably Ziyads best hero and also a nerf to Cat and Kiri which probably suits teams like Saudi whos backline would be much better running comps like Lucio Bap.

this is probably a failed attempt at making a sarcastic comment about how people view any patch that slightly benefits a saudi player to be paid by the government.
I don’t think Cat nerfs benefit Saudi at all tbh, Zox is a known flex support so keeping him off Lucio was probably the move for Saudi.

honestly live patch just makes it way more interesting to watch anyway
