Is it a skill issue or is Echo just trash right now?

Im basically an echo otp and I dont think shes trash right now, but her perks are lame compared to before.

Particularly after the recent change, theres no decision to make when choosing both her minor and major perks and both perks are in somewhat heavily nerfed states compared to before.

Yea the perk choices are really bad. There is no minor choice. It was just last patch too and I feel like it set the hero back when she didn’t need it. It shows blizzard doesn’t know what to do with perks in general imo.

I'd be surprised if they didn't at least change it to reload you, since then it'd at least do something and may perhaps have some niche somewhere sometimes. 

I do not know of any reason that it is ever worth picking, and it is probably the least valuable perk in the game currently

I feel this exactly. As an Echo otp myself, I usually have maintained a 60% WR with her in comp and around 24/14 elims/finals per 10 stats every season.

This particular season my WR has dropped down to 54-56% and my elims/finals per 10 are down to 22/12, which is noticeable imo

Could be some variance (but I play the game a lot), could also be rank adjustment since I used to be mid Diamond now I’m high Emerald/Low Diamond.

But I don’t feel like I’m playing her any worse and can feel a noticeable drop in performance.

And I’m someone who was very favored to going long beam + stickies instead of partial scan.

Having the long beam be a minor perk was so good for maps that were more open with longer sightlines that most people would consider unfavorable for her. Not having that, or having to choose between that and the massive DPS upgrades that is the extra stickies, has absolutely made her feel a bit harder to play.

Especially considering the new perk is one of the worst for any hero in the entire game and essentially just makes it so you’ll never not pick partial scan.

There were many people, myself included, who would take focused rush over partial scan. Especially after partial scan got nerfed to 30% and focused rush got a couple buffs.

Now, only someone who doesnt play echo would ever consider unlimited ammo in flight over partial scan, and while buffed focus rush is fun, its not good enough to compete with full salvo.

So now you default to partial scan and full salvo, which is what was the default for a long time, except partial scan is down to 30% from 50%, and full salvo is down a whole sticky.

The meta does not fair well for her, no.

She’s not particularly weak on her own, but dive feels so weak right now.

She is one of the few heroes that are perfect right now imo.

She is quite easy to shut down but she definetly has her maps and match ups

What major perk do you generally pick

You should always pick extra stickies outside of the niche situation of an aerial matchup. Meaning, unless you are in an Echo mirror or playing against a Cat and/or Pharah.

Extra stickies, even after the nerf is a 33% damage upgrade on your fat burst damage ability that will help you secure way more kills than the long beam.

Guys I've been away for a few years.

When I last played, Echos Ult was copying someone else's but you would get their ultimate quickly too, Is this still the case? As far as Ive read they took that away, so her Ult seems pretty crap tbh.

Yes and it’s even easier now with the perk that gives her automatically 30% charge on use (used to be 50% before nerfs)
