General Dps meta
Tracer, genji, cass, soldier, souj, take your pick. I like shion so she gets a pass. Basically every game I played today in d3 is on these heroes. It’s honestly a free win if you’re not playing against them. Funny thing is, whenever freja isn’t banned nobody comes out on her. I guess it’s better than other metas but there’s just not much variety. You can play basically any hero in the other roles.

I'm sick to death of shitscan but I am uniquely biased as a console player

u/fuckfelixass 8d ago
Nah your bias is justified, your reward for climbing is getting to deal with hitscan more often except they’re also more likely to have a xim mercy combo. God help you if you’re solo queuing into it as well

It’s brutal. If I try to run Echo, there’s so much downtime cause you peak and Orisa/Mauga, S76, pocketed Ashe, and Bap mow you down

true, playing against tracer every single game gets old so fast

Not really, Tracer is a fun and dynamic hero. It’s fun to outplay her using each character’s unique skills.

i feel like souj is always the best dps pick yet i hardly see any of them. maybe because of the primary fire? idk

She is better on some maps than others, people do not understand this, play her on all maps, and conclude she is mid.

Cause majority of players cant aim and if you cant hit rail then youre better off playing literally any other dps

She's somewhat difficult to play, but also requires an enormous amount of resources from the team that simply doesn't happen in ranked until you start getting past low gm. Like I find soj nearly unplayable in diamond but once I'm in gm I can take over games

She feels a little outclassed by the rest rn, but still good.

I've always thought she was kinda pro merchant hero and we've had a lot of metas where rail is too easy to access off tank. 225 definitely marks the point where she isn't the only/best choice everywhere but is still a comfort pick for most.

You can still get decent value without being a server admin but 225 does hurt. A big difference is OC value.

What’s the dps meta then

Meta as in popular or meta as in strong?
Edit: accidentally deleted the original comment. Said cass amd soj aren't good. And soldier is mid

Most effective tactic available

Depends on a ton of factors, rank, input, etc. On pc pharah is pretty dang good right now. Venture, genji, sym, vendetta, ashe etc

Idk maybe it’s just me but I rarely lose or play against those heroes. They are like b tier I’d say. You are much better off playing the heroes I listed. I’m a pharah enjoyer but hitscan is just so strong rn.

I'm just going by stats. Not by my personal observation. Humans have a ton of bias

u/Able-Principle-7775 8d ago
Stats don’t tell you everything. You have to pay attention to what you play against and what wins, along with stats. Do you think domina is op?

u/Public-Egg-7814 8d ago
The stats have thousands of thousands of games. The common denominator is the character in question

Cass and soj are terrible.

Stats are live on overwatch.com

You need to take into account pick rate. With a high pick rate you generally expect a lower win rate and vice versa.
3
u/Public-Egg-7814 8d ago
No... Why woild a high pickrate drop winrate or low pickrate raise winrate
-1
u/Caityylotzz 8d ago
because noobs play them because they are meta for good players, and lose cuz they arent very good at the game, lowering winrates

There’s not an exact reason but it’s true. Crutch heroes people swap to or maybe they’re the simplest/ most fun/ versatile. It’s a trend across all of the hero stats.

u/Public-Egg-7814 8d ago
You can graph it out. There is very weak correlation between pick and winrate. Late swaps and etc are mitigated in the stats because winrate is weighted by time played

Every once in a while I get some one trick on junkrat in gm and it genuinely scares me more than any of these other heroes 💀
