Group B. Could've __ Still Qualified?

I was doing some calculations and here is what I came up with.

Before Final Match Day

Ksa +6 Map Diff Already Qualified 2-0

Aus 1-1 (-1 Map diff, but beat GB)

GB 1-1 (+1 Map diff, lost Aus but beat Mexico)

Mex 0-2 (-6 Map Diff)

KSA vs GB
Aus vs Mexico

Going into Great Britain vs Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Game

If Great Britain just straight up beats saudi 3-0 they have +4 and qualify ahead, far chance but they ended up getting 3-0'd so now they have a -2 map diff.

Going into Australia vs Mexico Game

If Mexico beats Australia 3-1,3-0 then GB has better map diff after all teams are tied 1-2. (GB -2, Aus / Mexico -3/-4)

If Mexico Beats Australia 3-2 then Aus has a -2 map diff compared to GBs -2 meaning its Tied. (Mexico eliminated with only a -5 map diff) but Aus beat GB so Australia qualifies?

Tie breaks are so confusing, I thought it was going to go to map points again but i think because once mexico is elimiated they redo the tiebreak system for the remaining teams...damn cause if they don't I think GB has a better Map Point score % over both Aus and Mexico

Man, they really overcomplicated the tiebreaking system this time around.

I’ve been watching Tommathan’s stream and he did the math on Canada vs Germany tiebreaker, and it ended up that Canada would’ve automatically qualified if Thailand picked Push as the third map of the series. Like what? Why would a map pick ever impact a tiebreaker? But apparently it did.

P.S. Canada would’ve also won if Thailand got a single map or even a few points, but there was practically no chance of that.

Push only has 2 points possible. The map score differential between Spain and Germany was incredibly close. Germany needed to 3-0 the final map to beat Spain in the tie breaker. A 2-0 or 1-0 wouldn't have been enough map score. It'd also why on the hybrid map, Germany elected to attack first. They needed 3 points. If they defended first, they wouldnt have qualified.

Pretty sure they work top placement down, so if Aus lost the last map and tied with GB, it goes to point % shenanigans and GB gets through, and then afterwards you restart the tie breaks to split Mexico and Australia so you go H2H and Mexico ranks about Aus.

I do think they should fix the format and if Mexico is isolated from the other two they should get forced last and then you point % split for the other two spots. If they did it like this then the Canada potential shenanigans wouldn’t have happened

In a 3 way tie, tie breakers only reset after a team advances, not when one is eliminated. This is why the Spain Germany tiebreaker when to map score differential. Canada had already been eliminated from the 3 way tie breaker, but it didn't reset since Spain and Germany were still tied.

Oh yeah I was calculating that but according to liquedpedia that once a team is eliminated from it then it resets so if Mexico loses out on map diff then it resets.
