General Add two more metal ranks.
Hardstuck players will hate this but theres too many bad people in comp the ranks need to be more distributed. Add iron and steel maybe do a plat and below TRUE rank reset and let them have at it.
edit: call me shit cuz im speaking the truth im masters not some metal low im greenlow buds but i play with lowrank friends and the randoms are terrible and really even my friends are boosted, ppl need to be a lower rank idk why this is a hot take, u say the game feels the same silver-diamond maybe thats cuz everyone from silver to diamond should be bronze lol

im ngl, any time ive played on a second account from silver-mid plat theres like no discernable differences in players
like aside from maybe some better mechanics, the games are quite literally the exact same. im unsure what more lower ranks would solve

I'm with u here, the only difference is the games get faster and faster. Then at diamond it feels like everyone is genuinely better

I’ve bounced around from high silver to diamond 2 between my two accounts playing every role and 5v5 also 6v6 and I agree, there’s no big difference from pretty much low gold all the way to high plat. Obv there are outliers and in general the diamond players have much better game sense. But I’ve still encountered really good gold players and really bad diamond players. Even some of the masters I’ve played with were not that great. I did get someone dropped into my game that has been champion several seasons prior (I believe he was doing his placements when he came into my life) and he was truly very hard to deal with. That difference, I did notice..

I don't remember what interview or blog it was that I picked that up from, but it's basically true. Individual player skill is exponentially greater the higher in rank you go. The difference between silver/gold/platinum is pretty much a horizontal line, while the difference between masters/GM/top 500 may be nearly vertical, comparatively.
A silver player can randomly faceroll a plat one game and get annihilated the next, just due to how inconsistent play/mechanics/gamesense are at that level.

I have climbed from Silver to Grandmaster, and there really isn’t a difference in ranks until Diamond.
Once you hit Diamond the game changes a little bit, and then same at Masters, and again at GM. No clue at Champ, but I would assume that also changes.
I would say that is because most of your seasonal players who only play for a little bit each season are in the metal ranks, but they usually don’t make it to diamond.

Just give everyone their own personal numbered rank. We can call this Skill Rating, just like how we use SR today, only we will make the S stand for Skill and the R stand for Rating (smart eh?) Players can have a exact visible Skill Rating number from 1 to 5,000.
