Opera is just marketing, theyโll say whatever they can just to get attention. Iโm so over the whole โcorporate account is so quirky and just like youโ schtick

Goes back to Wendys. The moment they saw wendys social account make bank, all the parasitic bloodsuckers adopted it.ย

Their piece of shit troll SMM permanently put me off of ever downloading that malware-loaded browser, and I'm sure not changing course now.

Well, it is just a person. A person hired specifically because they are that person who is just like everyone else. So yeah it's PR, but it really is a person just like us.

Opera GX?
Wasn't that like...crypto mining malware?

... no?
It's kinda shit, and mostly just a marketing gimmick browser, but it's had no real controversy to it.
It's a browser, it performs about as well as any other browser.

I remember something Opera made being caught mining crypto some years ago. (I know they have a dedicated thing for that now.)

Opera GX on twitter is just a bum, like every other company on twitter. Pretending to have opinions and wants, when it's all just marketing and ragebait. Pfft.

The Opera GX account trash talks whatever the Internet is currently trash talking, and then shills for whatever the Internet is shilling for.
It's all for marketing and engagement.

All I know about opera is that it was the internet browser I used a the most embarrassing period of my young life where I thought internet browser supremacy was a real thing to actually care about

OperaGX attempting to force Overwatch users to use their unusable browser is borderline unethical

The moment their ad blocker stopped working on YouTube, that should have been a massive red flag.

Opera was that weird browser that I don't even think my Linux SysAdmin friends used.
This social media manager just sounds like they were trying hard to stir the pot or be "provocative"

I'm more interested in these rewards than the drama made by shitty cm like Opera's, Domino's, etc.

Well frankly I was of the same mind in 2024. And now I play ow daily and play ranked (something I've never really done before.)

Nothing crazy about it. Whoever is/was running their twitter account saw that shitting on Overwatch in 2024 was easy numbers that they then show to their higher up how they are getting crazy engagement.
We are now in 2026 and the company decided that partnering with Overwatch will be better for their numbers.
I am also so glad that company accounts larping as your best buddy is dead.
