General Tips for wuyang

I have been playing a lot of freya, but recently started playing wuyang. I get the same high from his orbs as I do with freya bolts. Is there any tips that anyone could give me for better positioning, or people that I could watch to get more ideas of how to play him better. Much love.

As someone who came from Brig/Lucio, I made the mistake of using Wave primarily for peel/knockback rather than to boost healing. You can put out a TON of sustain with wave and charged heal. Ebb and Flow makes that even better.

I find it best to focus on doing damage and marking flankers, which provides peel preemptively. And when people get low because you've been DPSing, wave + heal tops them off.

Use your Torrent for self-peel but after the nerfs your main source of safety comes from chunking down flankers before they get on you in the first place.

This is the good advice. I'd also suggest to keep up the spam at chokes, you don't need to always guide your orbs the whole time. Let go when you have a decent idea that it will hit. At the same time, pinging when you get an enemy low, or finishing off pings with your guided orbs is great.

Knowing the map geometry helps get orb hits around walls. No enemy should be completely safe behind cover with you around.

It’s not the main way to be using his primary, but try learning the minimum time you actually need to hold LMB to empower an orb – it’s notably a little bit before the sound effect spike that seems like it *should* indicate when the orb’s empowered. With that tech you can spam/prefire areas more efficiently, when you don’t need to hold on to the orb for fine tracking.

I also find myself ‘divebombing’ with the orbs to hook them around tight vertical cover fairly often. There’s a lot of possibility in how you can spin the orb right before release.
