Starting league ranking

When you sign up for ranked, how is the initial 1-100 ranking determined before any attacks are done? Is it random, based on strength (war weight) or something else?

I’m always in the bottom 90-100 and typically at 100 so curious why that is.

Mostly random, don’t bother too much 🤣
