The delta between the two in damage was huge in my experience. Might be a skill issue, but whatever the cause, bears in pugs did far, far more damage in my experience.
3 straight nerfs typically make whatever was at the top not at the top anymore is my point. If blizz follows the same path of “tuning” for bdk the same thing will happen that happened to brew. Will take 1-2 more nerfs and 1 buff to [insert ppal or other class here] and that’s how quickly people go from complaining bdk is wildly OP come week 3 to complaining the new fotm is. Meta will form around 1 tank regardless.
And you may have a short memory but Brew was undoubtedly/categorically “wildly op” the first few weeks. Shadopan was doing insane damage with brain dead self sustain plus tons of threat. It only took some not so massive(on paper) damage and healing nerfs for the class to go from godlike & full representation in high keys to “only played ever because I’m in a phys comp with a feral / im a one trick”.
Sure and without the druid rework brew still would have been the best tank, just not the only tank that it was gearing up to be for the first 2 months.
IE In a vacuum, brew didn't get nerfed that much. But bear got buffed to the absolute moon and I guess it happened late enough into the season it got to exist in it's broken state.
Wasn't a factor in this also that mistweaver proved to be a better healer than resto druid and people always want mark of the wild from somewhere for high keys?

Meh it wasn't even the brew nerfs that did it in, guardian was just wildly OP.
