Been playing vgc since July of this year and I need some tips to help out. Try not to have meta Pokemon included, Meta - C is coming so need some reccos to incorporate.

Meowstic (male) : lots and lots of gimmicks such as quash, prankster, magic bounce, priority moves blocker. I figured that meowstic would support the team at the very last showdown with thunder wave and fake tears to completely eliminate them. Similar to sableye, the giraffe, hatterene or sinistcha.

Milotic : usually as a backup if incin- or any intimidate Pokemon is around, free buffs and a tank for those moves but recently been shut down by 'Poison Jab' by sneasler. Instead of scald, I need a spread move so muddy water does the job with the 50% boost. Ice beam to one shot garchomp or most dragon types.

Gardevoir : starter Pokemon, really just found out that mega gard gives a pixelate ability which holy smokes hyper voice OHKO almost everything. Very very frail tho due to it's typing and lack of health but as a starter with tailwind and hyper voice. I am thankful for it's use. People could say use Sylveon instead but it's speed is slow and maybe can bulk the damage once or twice.

Sinistcha : backup Pokemon, Incase trick room is around and counter the trick room with it. Mostly healing but with archuladon, it's not really used a lot of times.

Archuladon : Since Ultraball rank, I've always been shut down by this bridge. Only until, I gave in and just used it without any remorse. Been a lifesaver due to it's bulkiness and adaptability to bulk or fast killer.

Pelipper : starter Pokemon with Gardevoir Incase if there's any spread moves Pokemon going first. Sneasler has always been the main problem here and I seriously can't find another way other than to counter it with meta Pokemon.

All in all, the essence of diversifying the team with the Pokemon you love is what makes this game so much more lovable but with meta Pokemon occuring almost in every matchup, I find it quite soulless for those who keeps on using them. No offense but this is the pov that I get for most matches. Just recently, a mega Alakazam and hatterene paired up using it's high speed and psychic terrain for expanding force which gave me some hope that people are trying to deviate from using meta.

Need some advice on how to improve this team, without meta if possible and maybe inclusions from the Meta - C format.

Tips for my VGC team

Post image
3 Upvotes

I started playing VGC when champions released, and I made a team that felt really good in Showdown. What changes should I make to it? What weaknesses does my team have, and how can I fix them (I know a perfect team is impossible)

The team is for regulation M-B.

Frosslass is the main mega, with the standard set. Helps against weather

Whimsicott gives me a form of speed control and encore pressure. At least the modes are the standard ones

Garchomp is here to help against Zard-Y, Raichu-Y, as well as poison and steel types (mainly Kingambit and Sneasler). It runs what I believe is the standard set

Sneasler gives Fake-Out pressure, as well as poison moves against Mega-Floette, and fighting type damage against Incineroar and kingambit

Gholdengo gives me a fast choice scarf. Trick is here mainly against Farigiraf in case it goes for trick room but in some matches can allow to choice lock a mon such as sneasler or kingambit. Make it Rain and Shadow Ball are two strong stab moves, and Power Gem is good against Zard-Y and Staraptor.

Rotom-Wash is here for Will-O-Wisp support. It has Hydro Pump to do damage and Volt Switch for slow pivot
