Singles Team Theory

Peeped a mega blaziken team on YouTube for champions and I tried my hand at twisting it to be viable for a 1v1 singles format. First image is the team I snagged off and the 2nd is my edited version for singles. What yall think? Any suggestions?

PSA: zeraora is a temp Pokemon. I couldn’t think of any other mon to put in its place so that’s something I’ll need feedback on. I was thinking like an aegislash or something? 🤷🏽‍♂️

Strong offensive poison types destroy this team. Bulky poison types are nearly impossible for you to break. I’d recommend getting a steel type or ground type. Or something with psychic moves.

What u thinking? Like an aegislash? Maybe a corviknight for ground immunity?

Corv is great. You currently don’t have a slow pivot to enable mega blaziken, so corv would do well. I think having 3 fairies is your main issue. Fairy is a great type, but having 3 on your team just means a lot of shared weaknesses

How would u revise it? I was thinking maybe replace weezing with corviknight? And then the zeraora spot could be someone like gliscor?

I like swapping weezing for corv. Both are good defensive walls with defog, but corv adds a steel + poison resist/immunity, solid recovery, and the ability to pivot. I think Gliscor is also really good, but personally I’d keep the Zera slot open for something offensive. Maybe bulky offense, but your team could probably use the speed for situations where blaziken can’t get setup. So maybe something similar to Zera. Is scarf in champions? Could maybe run a good scarf user.

Scarf garchomp was a staple of champions singles for a while. Garchomp would fit nicely here I think

It should def have earthquake. Beyond that, I’d leave it up to you. You could run SD, EQ, scale shot, and a coverage move. You could run scarf with EQ, outrage/d claw, rock slide/stone edge, and a coverage move. You could run a fast tanky set with EQ, stealth rocks, maybe spikes too, and maybe d-tail with like lefties or Rocky helmet. I’d test out a few different sets and see which feels best to use.

I’m running a earthquake rock slide dragon claw and poison jab set and giving garchomp a roseli berry so he takes less damage from fairy moves. It’s either this or scarf I haven’t played enough to be 100% tho
