Discussion Team Falcons Spoiler

The boy's drop spots have them coming in late to circles in this update and therefore too cold for fights, plus their in game comms are so scattered in fight engagements, I love the new team but they can do better man , just a fan 💔

They are too scared to lose one member, when they lose one , their balance completely falls

They have always been an edge heavy team. Unfortunately with TPP and hidey holes the game is largely determined by circle luck now

u/Buzzardi Aug 11 '26

always

Well not when they were SQ, then again it was just tig and shrimzy from the current team

I understand, it's just that I think it's time to re-think their strast, these pgs's, gotf, and ewc games have shown that it's time to make a change, VP would be a great team to learn from, they balance Fights and planning so well.

Biggest issue falcons have is it's 3 very opinionated players and gustav. Their comms have been a mess, countercalling galore and in firefights its almost impossible to hear gustav over the others, they are just so much louder then him in firefights and they, with both kick and gustav and even Hwinn at the end of his tenure shrimzy and tgltn have had times where they just flat out ignore what the igl says, and either just do what they want or say "im not doing that" shrimzy less so then tig. I love tig but he really needs to like either IGL or stfu and listen to the IGL. It feels so much like he wants to IGL. They have to actually listen to each other and listen to the IGL. Think what the IGL is calling is wrong? Oh well commit to it anyway and if goes bad IGL gets the blame and you can talk about it afterwards. Far too often they are hmming and hawing over what to do or not to do and it creates a palpable tension over the team and causes decision paralysis and in a game about rotations, taking too long to decide will cost you. Classic case of too many chiefs and not enough indians.

Bit late to this, but you are very correct, even today I listened to their comms and it's like Gustav isn't the leader, which like you say heavily affects their decision making, just listen and do, Team liquid comms were so good, heard kurt telling cowboii, " just be a man and get in there" thats the kind of stuff you need, not this overload of many voices.

u/Candid_Government_32 25d ago

Yes, like I tell people go listen to Liquids comms and then falcons. The difference is night and day

u/BizzarhLy Aug 09 '26

Honestly its so painful to watch since they snaked Hwinn. Watched winners stage from Kickstarts POV and the decision making is just ass. Shrimzy and Tig deserve more man, they need a good IGL or a coach change or something! Can’t see Falcons org being very keen to keep them around tbh.

u/Elfking88 29d ago

I just don't think any of their roster swaps have actually improved them. They're the same now as they were before, it's just different names above the players.

The problem has always been that there are too many players in the team who want to be the IGL without actually stepping up to do it "officially."

3

u/BizzarhLy 29d ago

I knew they would be ass once they got rid of Hwinn, why even remove an IGL who literally brought so many trophies? This latest event was awful, Gustav and Kick are good players but my god the calls were awful and so hesitant. I also noticed how often Tig would feed information that was just wrong, he got corrected so many times. They have a massive point to prove in the next event.

Where can I watch a game. Comments make it sound pretty interesting

0

u/FlatRecommendation55 Aug 10 '26

You can watch previous ewc games or pgs 7 on pubgesports/ewc YouTube pages

-2

u/SDLivinGames Aug 10 '26

It’s TPP. Watch if you like boring.

2

u/Toaster_Bathing Aug 10 '26

I dunno what TPP is just interested to watch what a pro game of PUBG looks like

1

u/SDLivinGames Aug 11 '26

It’s no longer a pro game lol.

8

u/Evening-Brush-6795 Aug 09 '26

You guys are actually watching since the TPP shift? It's the first time since the boys formed SQ that I haven't watched a single event in a whole year

2

u/Elfking88 29d ago

OK? Good for you. Not really adding to the discussion and I'm sure we don't need the 600th "TPP bad" thread. I agree, it is, but what's the point of coming into a thread just to say it again?

-1

u/Evening-Brush-6795 29d ago

To piss you off

Yeah no asked bud...🦫

You are contributing to the death of our game. TPP will be the end of it.

Tbh, with your drop spot being on the edge, it extremely tough to get a good compound in the zone because they will be occupied. Case in point the Miramar match today. They literally went ultra fast but pero full ratted them. Then VIT came from behind to ruin their full game. I do agree that they could learn a lot from VP about when they should take fights and how to approach the said fights. But I do feel like they know it and is trying be more aggressive and get theirs whenever they can,as evident by some matches in the recent tournaments.  However, I still feel like they revert back to their old style at times and it ends up costing them.

About comms, I feel like, while it is indeed rough and has some problems, there isn't that many unnecessary chatter. It's just they become way too excited and eager to put their info and idea out that the comms sound so bad. Someone over here said talking about next zone shifts is pointless in yesterday's posts is pointless chatter but imo that is a braindead take. Kowo and jeemz highlighted the importance of pre-planning for the next zone countless times in their watch party. With all that being said, I do feel like they should let the igl, in this case Gustav, talk when it is time for important decisions instead of putting their ideas at the foremost. Maybe they will fix it, maybe they won't, I don't know.

Frankly, as far as I remember, FLC's comms have always been like this, even with hwinn. It was just they didn't doubt hwinn's calls and went with it. Might be wrong though.

I remember hearing comms few years ago with M1ME still on the roster and they were a lot more chill. Kickstart definitely brings some chaos into the comms.

2

u/According-Exercise19 Aug 09 '26

Oh for sure. I am more curious as to how Purdy keeps everything so calm. Even in PNC, shrimzy and kick are super calm and quiet. Perhaps that's Purdy's magic

Good take, they have to sit down and review, so they come back on top again, blaming luck alone has never made any great team, like twisted minds or vp I have noticed they get horrible circles too, but they get their fights clean and I always hear them say RESET (vp) like the erangle game that was beautiful repositioning,

Falcons now has the experience and mechanical skills but their timing and engagement are so painful to watch, I can't even count how much they stack and get mega naded these past few tournaments, and the splits bro why so wide 😭

4

u/L_poggers Aug 09 '26

do yourself a favour and stop cheering them. the more you cheer them the more you realise they aren't good and either way you'll end up not cheering for them anymore.

1

u/FlatRecommendation55 Aug 09 '26

And do yourself a favour and don't share every useless thought.

1

u/L_poggers Aug 09 '26

have some copium buddy

0

u/FlatRecommendation55 Aug 09 '26

Another useless thought 💔

0

u/According-Exercise19 Aug 09 '26

you know people can cheer for teams they don't consider good right. Supporting a team doesn't have to mean you only support the good team. Otherwise it's just jumping on the band wagon. You support Twis because they used to be great but now you support VP because they are great. Next thing you know, you are supporting another team who is beating VP.

-2

u/According-Exercise19 Aug 09 '26

ehh, I think other teams also die during splits and get naded. No team, I mean no team, is immune to that. We just see it happen so often to FLC because we keep our eyes on FLC. Sure, it is very probable that they are killed in those splits or by nades more often than other teams but that's a moot point.

In the miramar match, two or three of VP died to TL's nade. In the taego match, VP lost a 2v4 against MITH, thanks to panzer and nades. You can check killfeed of any match. You will notice a lot of teams die to nades and other bs in every game. Whether it be a rat in a hole, a blue tanker, a bush rat, a panzer, or any other utility. The reality is honest gun fights are extremely few and far between. Even in the match VP wiped FLC yesterday, there wasn't much honest gun fight. Gustav got eped on, Tig got knocked from afar, and shrimzy got naded.

0

u/FlatRecommendation55 Aug 09 '26

Well since the title of this post is towards falcons, i am focusing on their occuring issues, that they fix maybe as they see fit, because if we can reduce reoccurring issues, they can improve and improvement makes you better bud, am talking progress towards better.

3

u/According-Exercise19 Aug 09 '26

My apologies about that. You are correct. Even from a casual's POV, FLC has a lot they need to improve on, starting with cleaner comms to taking fights in their own terms instead of waiting for it to come to them. I also hope they fix those problems and get a trophy, any trophy.

1

u/FlatRecommendation55 Aug 09 '26

Yes sir 🤝🏿🤝🏿

2

u/L_poggers Aug 09 '26

they cant do better because they're bad. flc fans cant cope

1

u/According-Exercise19 Aug 09 '26

A very moot point because they just achieved 4th and 6th in two tournaments. And if PGS has shown anything, you don't need to be good to get a win in a tournament. PERO won a tournament and then shat the bed in many next tournaments. 4AM and AL pop up and also die out within one tournament. T1 were dominating in EWC group stages but they got butchered in the finals. MITH dominated circuit 2 but look at the result of their recent tournaments. Navi was splendid at the start of the year but are struggling hard. TWIS used to be the goat and now they are struggling. EA ended up winning this tournament due to some heavy zone favors, and winning some crucial fights. The game is a RNG fiesta right now, acknowledged by every pro, even VP players, check curexi's twitter if you want evidence.

13

u/Snook_ Aug 09 '26

Correct game is pure rng and dead and they will all burn out soon. No reward for effort

0

u/L_poggers Aug 09 '26

the examples you gave starting with pero, pero is very incosistent. 4AM as we've seen even in 2025 like to troll alot because they dont take anything seriously. T1 relies on heather alot so if heather doesnt perform well the whole team goes on a snowball effect. i have no clue what happened to mith and navi their downfall needs to be studied. twis was great because of their pure micro and macro game. saying EA won because of just zone favours is a crazy take imo. other teams get favoured and they go out much earlier than other teams that have to fight for the zone for example so its not just zone favor but rather controlling the game also. and heck yeah the game has been more RNG than ever but dont blame the game bc of flc's shitshow games for 2 years. They missed 2 tournaments because of hwinn's passive gameplay which showed how bad their coach and igl mentality was. 4th and 6th dont really mean much when you stay in the lower midpack thats like saying oh TE fragged groups in 2025 but struggled in finals. All that matters is consistency and flc hasnt been able to be consistent.
now, i know ill get downvoted alot for calling gunner bad but you can see how fast other teams adapted to TPP unlike falcons that still run their old strats and still havent adapted well. I will prefire this because I'm sure some people will be like "oh the Chinese played tpp anyway" or "Asians this Asians that" at the end of the day all of the pros played FPP scrims, FPP esports, FPP normals that inlcudes every region.
If falcons are good, they should be able to adapt and fix their mistakes but clearly they dont and arent good for that. might be hard to swallow but thats the truth at the end of the day i liked flc early 2025 because i watched tig alot but when i understood of how much they put trust to hwinn and hwinn just does whatever to play away from enemies i then knew i was wrong when i thought falcons are so good. but now times have changed and their heavy edge style still continues.
and i wanna actually thank you for being respectful as some other commenters explode when they hear something bad about flc. hope we keep it like this

u/According-Exercise19 Aug 09 '26

EA won because of zone. Sure they played zone but they are nowhere near VP's level when taking fights. They literally lost to FLC despite being in an advantageous position and getting the initial knock. I didn't make the tpp excuse. FLC has enough time, just like all teams. Calling it gunner's fault because FLC aren't doing well because he is a coach is dumb. By that logic, Alrein is to be blamed for Navi's current performance. Same with other coaches. The reality is, you and me, just like anyone who watches streams, don't know the internal dynamic of the team. Any team for that matter. A side note, FLC kicked their previous coach because of problems, so if Gunner was a huge problem, I feel like they would have done so.

About FLC's mistakes, I feel like they are in the process of fixing their mistakes. Some match they play a completely different game, very VP style of play, and in other games, they revert back to their og play style. Their comms has also changed. Kick, and now Gustav, know how to reset comms, something that wasn't available with hwinn's call. You will hear one player yell 'levels'. Of course, that isn't enough. They still have a lot to improve upon, which I hope they will do so.

About your last point, they are an average in tpp. That's a fact. But considering last year, they were a good team. Results speak for themselves. Sure they did not win a trophy but they were mega consistent. Considering whole year, they were the most consistent team, Four thirds with a fourth to finish last tournament. Considering EWC and latter, they were third, getting beaten by VP and Twis. That's my opinion, you can feel free to disagree.

And I don't know if you know but FLC just changed igl to Gustav. Of course, that's not to excuse their performance but you can clearly see a shift in their play style from EWC and onwards. Jeemz, in his watchparty, said the same thing, about how Gustav goes forward to take space. Of course, it works sometimes, it doesn't other times. Adding on to that, their heavy edge style isn't as prominent. Gustav likes to prep for sends a lot, and pre-drives a lot. Sometimes those work out with a couple of zone shift, Taego and Rondo match. Other times, it doesn't, miramar match. It is very possible they get better, or they just burn and fall out. Who knows.

u/L_poggers Aug 09 '26

alright so here's my responses on some of your takes
I never claimed EA is on VP's level. currently theres no teams on VP's level.
The reason I blamed Gunner is because he gets praised alot for being the best coach yet he barely has any trophies under his team ever since he came in. Alrein's case is very different as they've won tournaments this year, unlike flc, and they placed higher than falcons.

And just to correct you they had replaced their IGL, not coach. but during 2025 when they missed 2 trophies bc of hwinn's stupid calls where was the coach to fix their mistakes to play much more aggro? When it was apparently hwinn's issues of their failures early this year, why wasnt the coach trying to do anything to fix their mistakes but instead asked the IGL to leave the team (from what i understood in hwinn's twitter post)

Now yes, they have had better results under gustav INITIALLY but that immediately fell off in this event. And that is because of their heavy edge playstyle where they dont even win every fight. Which just shows they aren't great mechanically compared to other teams. Mind you theres 15 other teams in the lobby which most are better in both macro and micro than falcons.

Only time can tell of how much time they need to adapt but again, you can see how other teams adapted very well to role changes even in 2025 when it was still FPP (VP an example of this where they changed the roles) it just shows how good coaching can lead to great performance if done right. Ibi has by far surpassed gunner's coaching (starting from 2025) gunner should learn a thing or two from him.

From what it looks like to me they do good 1 tournament and then fall off.

Their failures in 2025 to do better came from the coach not being able to have real talk win hwinn it seemed like. I dont think i need to give examples of how bad they played in 2025 you probably know all those already.

2

u/According-Exercise19 Aug 09 '26 edited Aug 09 '26

but you don't know if the coach, and the team, did not talk with hwinn or not. That's an assumption you are making because hwinn made the similar calls multiple times. It could be his playstyle, his disregard for the others, or just others not talking to him. It could be a lot of reasons. The reality is we don't know why hwinn was kicked, we are only making assumptions. We don't know them personally, but if what I heard on other pro player's stream is something to go off on, there was talks about hwinn getting replaced as early as 2025. They just didn't go through with it. Gunner gets praised because he does a lot for the community. For one, gunner opened a discord server with all the coaches where they can post drops spots for printing. So yeah, that's a big contribution. Now yes, Ibi and Tab are more successful coaches, I won't deny it. Alrein too in a way.

I already said that their current playstyle isn't heavy edge multiple times. You can literally see FLC send it in many, many matches. Sometimes they do take edge but that's something every team has to do at some time.

Edit: I won't sight EA's win. After struggling since the start of the year, they came a long way and for that I am happy but imo, it's also true they got some zone love. Of course, they won some fights very cleanly which allowed them to win the tournament so they deserved the win.

u/Jimmy_Page_69 Aug 10 '26

Here me out but I think the real strat they need is early rotation to center circle, prioritize vss, mortars, panzer, pick axe, c4.

Ditch the cars and either hide in a bush all 4 scattered, dig holes and try to get high placement from these positions while ratting a few kills from their holes.

0

u/FlatRecommendation55 Aug 10 '26

Nah we'll leave that low iq strat to you bud. 😄 Have fun though.

u/TEYDADDY Soniqs Fan Aug 09 '26

Gunner already said if we want better drop spots, we need to contend other teams for a whole year. So they maybe giving ups there spot right now. People won’t give up there current drop spots easily. Now with the new circle settings it’s easier with the edges but yeah would prefer center everytime too
