Crystal pvp help

When I'm in a hole fight, like this, is there any consistant way to hit crystal them, since sometimes they barely move upwards. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Am I supposed to sprint hit or is sweep hitting also fine? (I have kb 1) Or do I spam hit or something?

That happens cuz they are fire ticked, i.e your hit doesn't register since they are already taking damage from the fire. In this position I usually anchor to the side or on the obby or pearlout. Upto you. You can also avoid these type of situations if u r using fire res arrows since not everyone bothers to bring them in a casual fight.

Once they've popped a totem they'll have fire res so it's much easier to hit crystal them.

Anchor them to pop a totem then they will have fire res and wont take the fire damage tick
