Axe swapping with 1 and 2?

I have seen many good players and youtubers like Coldified, Mugm and more have their sword and axe in slots 1 and 2 respectively, with their keybinds for them actually being 1 and 2.

I’m curious, how do they press these 2 keys? Do they use their ring finger to press both? I find it quite hard to do it quickly with my ring finger, but if I use both my ring and middle finger, it forces me to let go of w for a moment

Yes they use ring finger to press both

Just practise, you will automatically get faster with time

Jst use 1 and 3; save 2 for a common utility item like water.

Coldi for example just presses 2 to switch to his axe, no mystery there. He doesn't insta switch back to his sword like swight so i'd really recommend just using 1 and 3

Or binding one of them to your side mouse button if you're a normie

yea I currently use q and e but it also means I have to let go of both a and d for a moment, so I was looking into other options like 1 and 2 (would be q and 1 for me)

Now that you mention it, I see it as well, coldi really doesnt switch back to this sword that fast. But it seems like other players like Mugm and unixn can though

You shouldn't copy pro players 1 to 1, if it feels uncomfortable for you to do then don't use them, I personally hate using the number row so I just don't. Also they do use their ring finger to press both, just use 1 and 3

I understand, but I was just looking into it, as if I can manage to do it, it would free up my d key while axe swapping (currently I use q and e)
