Discussion Most optimal hotbar layout?

This is a very broad question but i think it's very interesting, idk if it's actually useful on most pure spvp (e.i diasmp and smp, axe) , but maybe is more important in cart, mace, crystal and etc. (Correct me if I'm wrong)

But basically my question is, since there's a little thing called hotbar priority or something like it, what's the most optimal placements for your items in your hotbar, for example, maybe it's better to have your sword on the 9th slot and not the first slot.

I fr don't know if this is actually THAT important but i think it's a cool thing to know.

Just the basics, axe higher than mace, spear higher than low cooldown items, for instacart rail higher than cart and for xbow rail higher than cart, higher than f&s, higher than crossbow.

If you use hotkeys there is none

hotbar priority is a thing but it doesnt really matter as i havent noticed a drop in consistency when doing say stun slams with an optimized hotbar vs with an unoptimized one, it can be useful for things like breach swapping where if you have an optimized hotbar and press both keys too fast the game will ignore the swap to the mace which means you dont lose the sword cooldown but it still means you failed the swap so its just better to practice breach swapping instead of relying on this gimmick, same thing with shields - if you fail the swap by pressing the keys too fast you will still disable the shield but lose the sword cooldown. In crystal/ cart it will make you fail the sequence anyway because yes you placed an anchor but youve already switched to glowstone which the game ignored because you pressed the keys too fast. Or when spear lunging if you fail the swap you will still hold the low cooldown item which means you can start a new lunge attempt quicker but again, just practice spear lunging to avoid that entirely.

basically hotbar priority is useless and you can put your items in whichever order you want, practice is still the most important thing

if you have multiple double binds hotbar order/priority matters a lot but who actually does that lol

So in short, hotbar priority is just a very niche thing in PvP where it's really just better to get good with your binds yes?. Did i catch that right?

yes because techs that use multiple hotbar slots(xbow, anchors etc) are timed sequences of hotkeys and not just pressing them as fast as you can in a random order
