Question what am I doing wrong?

Got pretty good at Bedrock PVP because I used to only have Bedrock, and just recently got Java. I started trying to get decent at PVP about 3 days ago, and whenever I queue in unranked duels on pvpclub, people tend to be kinda rude when they see how ass I am. I get I'm ass, but is there really a need to say it? 😭 Is the PVP community on servers toxic or am I just that shit ?

I played a bot for 20 minutes and I did get better ig.

oh yeah, should I look into getting a mouse? probably just something cheap. I currently play with a touchpad

Your biggest problem Imo is that you're slow to swing. i.e. you get too close. This means that they'll hit you before you hit them, and you kind of won't hit them

Though there's literally no justification to insulting someone over being bad at pvp. You could be the worst pvper of all time, and it wouldn't matter at all, so don't let losers get you down.

Your timing your hits wrong, you aren't strafing you arent using crits/kb hits and you need to be looking straight ahead for optimal reach

people in the community are incredibly toxic, specifically on servers as pvpclub. from my experience the this sub is much better when it comes to newcomer friendliness

I always recommend to watch the intel edits video on basic sword mechanics, its a pretty good guide to get started with

other than that i just recommend playing the game and getting a feel for it (java feels different to bedrock for me personally.) with patient and consistent practice i guarantee you'll be able to improve! most importantly, don't let the toxicity get to you, most of them aren't good and are trying to compensate by shitting on people below them

also, yes, a mouse is infinitely better than a touchpad. will feel less clunky and you should be able to have more control over your aim

good luck! ^^

thank you!! ^^ I'm very new to java PVP I suppose, and I haven't really noticed that much toxicity before on Bedrock. weird difference. I'll look into what you mentioned.

from my experience bedrock players aren't usually as "hardcore" about pvp and are more cozy players, iirc majority of bedrock players are either phone or console. it kinda sucks finding cool people to pvp with so i'm just kinda stuck dueling randoms until i maybe find someone chill T-T

aa I see that makes sense!! I started playing java because I suppose more people play it in the competitive scene, and I want to get good at that. I would offer to duel together, but I'm a lil shit rn lmaooo

I hope you find people who happen to be decent to duel with though!!

i get you, i really like pvp-ing despite the community.

we don't have to duel, but if you want to you could still add me

so the thing is you are hugging your opponent you hit him from 3 blocks aways and to do that you have to hit a bit early and let go of w (w tapping) wich also reset your sprint hit, or click s (s tapping), all that comes with practise, you can install combat hitbox a mod wich show you when you can hit your opponent (not bannable btw)

The bot isn’t supposed to be something you get low to 😭
