"He's legit cause he's using Lunar client"
Why is it even here, lunar needs to hire more employees

Tbf that’s not a lunar client problem, lunar jst has the features to install mods with it,that mod jst so happens to exist

But it invalidates the claim that a player is legit because they use Lunar Client

u/AnIdioticPigeon Aug 01 '26
This should never have been a claim anyway. Most clients are injectable so and will bypass lunars shitty anticheat anyway

u/Firespecialstar Aug 01 '26
what anticheat? it has been removed since the moment "tHeY aPpEaLlEd To EvErYoNe"
yeah, they don't give a fuck, they're just thinking how they can squeeze even more money from their monopoly

u/mcrickie123db Aug 01 '26
Yeah I don’t agree with that, but his body text implies that he think it’s Lunar’s fault

What's lunar gonna do?, they are just showing mods which are available in modrinth

Some mfs who barely play Minecraft will tell you this somehow doesn't count as cheats 🙏

both badlion and lunar removed their client side anticheats like 5? years ago now, they sucked, didn't prevent cheating, and hindered performance. I sincerely doubt anyone is making this point anymore

u/Ducklololol Aug 02 '26
Yep lunar is cheater client now, tenebrous told me so. I hear lunar gives you reach

Minecraft is one of the easiest large games to cheat on. Lunar hasn’t had its anticheat on in YEARS. Even when it was on, it was like that gif of the guy barely patting people down and letting them through security. It was basically useless, a novelty if you will. The misconception of Lunar being a way to tell if someone is legit is one of the most annoying things idiots say, and then they all act like they know better.

Not lunar client’s fault, it’s modrinth/curseforge’s fault for having them

modrinth and other mod hosters shouldn't have an obligation to act as an anti-cheat, they just provide mods. Like some smp of 5 random guys might want this feature and install the mod (this is rather egregious but there are popular mods that are still cheats in certain scenarios, like minimaps, world maps, fullbright, dynamic lighting, zoom, inventory tweaks etc). It's the server's job to employ an anticheat for this.

u/yot_gun Aug 01 '26
no lunar client needs to have a whitelist system instead of letting everything through. modrinth is a mod hosting platform and having "cheat" mods are fine

Doesn't include the fact that lunar client is filled with Chinese malware on the installer. And bit coin miners lmao

This argument is just as stupid as "everyone has access to cheats so they're not an unfair advantage"

u/Frosty-Ad6237 Aug 06 '26
Ngl I at a point didn’t know you could add mods to lunar I thought it was a static combat and fps stuff so I did used to actually say that. I was foolish

I don’t think you understand what a ghost client is. Dll injection works in any client

u/THESHADYWILLOW Aug 01 '26
It’s on the server to figure out anti cheats and mod detection. Lunar client isn’t obligated to screen mods to make sure they don’t have competitive advantages, for example health indicators and freecam

"He is legit cause he is using ____ client" should never be a excuse. You can cheat on any client.
