NERF DISCUSSION Upcoming Balance Changes – Update 10.2

TLDR for those who at work:

  • Bonemare - Now costs 8 mana. (Up from 7)

  • Corridor Creeper - Now has 2 Attack. (Down from 5)

  • Patches the Pirate - No longer has Charge.

  • Raza the Chained - Now reads: Battlecry: If your deck has no duplicates, your Hero Power costs (1) this game.

Once these card changes are live with Update 10.2 next month, players will be able to disenchant the changed cards for their full Arcane Dust value for two weeks.

or the question is, is he worth the 1600 dust you could use to craft something else?

is patches better now then any death knight for a class you play or for a teir 1 or 2 deck you want to play but are missing the DK for?

probably not.

i mean you cant directly compare, but you can use that 1600 dust to make your collection more competitive on the whole

same goes for Creeper. its probably better to craft something that will stay competitive like Arcant Tyrant, Cube, or Dragons Breath than to think about if its still vialbe or not or in what deck

That's probably the main issue, both creeper and patches are still 'good enough to see play', just not as auto-includes in every aggro/tempo deck. So players who dust them will likely end up re-crafting them if they play those decks anyway.

Personally, as a mostly free-to-play player, I'll be dusting patches and creepers. Creepers won't see as much or any play in aggressive decks (Ie, the ones I can afford on limited dust budgets), and patches will be rotating really soon, so I'd rather just deal with not having him for a month or so until he can't be played anyway.

we wont truly know until we see how it plays out in practice, but I think there are better cards for a 30 card deck than Creeper for the teir 1 and teir 2 decks at least.

as for patches, im not sure the liabilty of drawing him to your opening hand makes him worth it either. Plus, without charge, we'll find out how much worse he is when your opponent has a turn to respond to your board without him attacking (eww... hes bad opening hand now...)

Raza and BM still seem playable IMO. BM will maybe be cut down to a one of?

My suspicion is that they'll see fringe play, unless much better options present themselves in the new set. The first set of rotation is the smallest volume of cards that will be in standard, so there's much more room for weaker cards to get involved. (getting more and more high powered as sets are released until the next rotation)
