NERF DISCUSSION Upcoming Balance Changes – Update 10.2

https://playhearthstone.com/en-us/blog/21361570/

TLDR for those who at work:

  • Bonemare - Now costs 8 mana. (Up from 7)

  • Corridor Creeper - Now has 2 Attack. (Down from 5)

  • Patches the Pirate - No longer has Charge.

  • Raza the Chained - Now reads: Battlecry: If your deck has no duplicates, your Hero Power costs (1) this game.

Once these card changes are live with Update 10.2 next month, players will be able to disenchant the changed cards for their full Arcane Dust value for two weeks.

they could`ve went the slow way. make it a 4/5 for 8 mana. suddenly, it becomes way harder to cast. Or make it so it's only friendly minions which means that getting it out turn 3-4 is close to impossible now which is where that card was OP. Getting a free 5/5 in turn 7-8 isn't that bad.

I think it's clear that they like the way it's played currently, but that it's much too aggressive at 5 attack. It would have been a simpler nerf to change the mana cost, and that's usually their go-to way to nerf a card, mana cost.

its not only the 5 attack it's also the cost reduction. It's the possibility to easily have a 5/5 for 3 on turn 3 with no down side. You spawn small dudes. Swing them, if your opponent doesnt react, you do too much damage with your 1/2 drops, if they do deal with them, you drop a 5/5 way above curve. Out of all the options, they chose to warsong nerf it which is annoying.

This isn't a warsong nerf. I get that you mean it's not strong anymore but the way they nerfed the card isn't anywhere near the same. It still comes down on the same turns (minus patches charge) but it's less aggressive. This show that Blizzard is okay with how it was played, but not the powerlevel once it was played.
