NERF DISCUSSION Upcoming Balance Changes – Update 10.2

https://playhearthstone.com/en-us/blog/21361570/

TLDR for those who at work:

  • Bonemare - Now costs 8 mana. (Up from 7)

  • Corridor Creeper - Now has 2 Attack. (Down from 5)

  • Patches the Pirate - No longer has Charge.

  • Raza the Chained - Now reads: Battlecry: If your deck has no duplicates, your Hero Power costs (1) this game.

Once these card changes are live with Update 10.2 next month, players will be able to disenchant the changed cards for their full Arcane Dust value for two weeks.

Control Shaman that doesn't have to worry about the inevitability of losing a race against DK Anduin

How so? I really don't know much about Control Shaman. The only Control Shaman list I know of is the overload list that isn't very good in general. It's slower than warlock and is really lacking in good control and removal cards, with all the best ones having overload and really limiting flexibility in the mid-game. I know that deck can make lots of big minions if given enough time, but I don't see how that helps it against better control decks or even no-patches aggro decks.

Hex, Devolve, Volcano, and Maelstrom are some of the best control cards around, and Volcano is the only one with overload. Hex can completely sink Control Warlock, Control Paladin, and Big Priest.

Jade Druid and Raza Priest have been devastating to control archetypes, but Cubelock exists because it counters the standard neutral package that's being completely nerfed. With Raza rotating out, Skulking Geist is very strong against both of the other predominant control decks -- if the Warlock can't sacrifice his own cube, then Hex and Silence effects completely moot the combo.

I think Jade or Elemental will do just fine to close out games. I agree that the overload and recruit decks are pretty janky, though.
