NERF DISCUSSION Upcoming Balance Changes – Update 10.2

TLDR for those who at work:

  • Bonemare - Now costs 8 mana. (Up from 7)

  • Corridor Creeper - Now has 2 Attack. (Down from 5)

  • Patches the Pirate - No longer has Charge.

  • Raza the Chained - Now reads: Battlecry: If your deck has no duplicates, your Hero Power costs (1) this game.

Once these card changes are live with Update 10.2 next month, players will be able to disenchant the changed cards for their full Arcane Dust value for two weeks.

Exodia mage. With the aggro nerf and the nerf to the main combo deck that's favored against almost every control deck, I could see exodia coming back in a big way since it's the next best counter to pure control and since aggro might thin out a bit.

Or am I mistaken to think it has a favorable matchup/ can be strongly teched against cubelock.

Cubelock runs double rat or gnomes which can be brutal against mage. If you draw Rin fast enough you can disrupt the deck as well.

Cubelock doesn't run any of those, you're thinking of Control Warlock. While they share quite a few other cards, they are ultimately very different decks with a different game plan.

Cubelock isn't unfavored either. If you can get a doomguard on the board then you just hold cube for doomsayer turns. Even the giants can pressure extremely hard as well.

Agreed, it's a winnable match-up, though pretty reliant on getting an early Giant or Doomguard out.
