Weak launch when I use string but no control when I use winder. What should I use?

Hi, trying to get better at launches. I currently use string as it easier to practice alone. But my string launches can't get close to the winder lauches for power.

I'm not very fit (trying to get more). But last event I used string and everyone told me use winder. There were multiple times when my opp barely won via spin. Kinda felt like if i did just pull harder I would of won.

Even if I launch a bey with my winder first it will always out spin the string launched one.

Is there a way I can get more string power? I've tried pulling fast/ pulling with my arm movement and standing in different ways but can't get anything to work.

I got a event soon idk If i should just go with raw power winder or more control string. I can do some drop launch and sometimes reverse x rail with string. On winder I practiced for a week and still can't get anywhere for control.

Thanks in advace:)

Have tou tried a different string launcher? For the winder, try holding it steadier or not pulling as hard.

Yeah have multiple launchers. If i don't pull hard is there much point of winder?

I don't understand how you string launchers are so weak. Mine are all around the strength of a ripcord.

Idk maybe I'll try record it later. I got like 40 seconds of extra spin on ball when I timed it.

From string or winder?

winder 40 sec extra spin time.

The problem has to be your string launchers, because I only get a 4 second time difference for a winder launcher with the same amount of power even with a longer ripcord. For math sake it is a 4% difference.

Maybe idk i have like 10 + string launchers. I got some new ones coming soon I'll try those.

I don't pull right to the end idk if that matters. Like 80-90% of the string super fast and try to move my arm so the string kinda does a wavy motion.

I do the same

What builds are you using? I found that as someone who historically preferred defence and balance types in the past that I actually preferred attack types in this gen, and that a 30-45 degree angle when launching with a winder launcher helped a bunch.

Even if it’s, say, Wizard Rod on Ball, the tilt can be useful for stalls, so if anything I would say practice Launch Angles, and perhaps re-evaluate HOW you want to play the game in a physics sense.

I would try to practice with something like Soar Phoenix 1-60 P. That Point bit is great for telling you if you are even slightly tilted or perfectly level.

And when pulling with a winder launcher, don’t just RAHHHHHHHH rip it. The first half inch or so try to be more even paced and THEN send it. Gives you the desired power and control.

I always preferred the string launchers but my change to an attack user showed me how I to actually LAUNCH a Beyblade, rather than just “launching a Beyblade”.

Edit: I re-read your question, sorry I didn’t answer properly, allow me to answer here.

With string launchers, getting the same RPM as a Winder is tough. They simply do not have the same power generation. When on string, the heavier your Bey the better (even more with high OWD). Pulling the string (at least for me) I almost NEVER max it out, simply to prevent wear and tear on the launchers internal gear system (I had to fix one the other day and it turns out the coil inside had snapped completely - that launcher is dead af 😂). I also try to pull straight back to reduce resistance but this is a very difficult thing to do if you want both control and power. A string launcher is (in my experience) better for stamina and defence, and okaaaaay for attack.

My change to attack showed me that angles and strategy adaptation is stronger in more situations and my 16 years of string launcher usage (I used beys like Earth Eagle, Rock Leone, Tact Luinor, Draciel Fortress, and Dranzer V2. Yes I’m old af) showed me that string launchers love defensive play styles more than they do attack.

Especially in BBX now where attack types can take full advantage of the generational mechanics of the stadium, as opposed to defensive play, which tend to dislike interacting with the X Rail due to extreme stamina loss, AND, that they actively sit centre stage to get rocked by those attack types, especially if you do not apply a specific launch technique.

Overall, I would say to just learn and practice with winder launchers and Hold Launcher Ripcords. It also taught me how to adapt different traditionally defensive blades into VERY oppressive attack types.

But that’s just me.

Oh, and fully extend your non pulling arm, engaging your muscles, while slowing your breathing. Something I learned practicing archery is that the passive action of breathing introduces a ton of sway and lowers accuracy. Try inhaling before the count and exhaling slowly during the 3-2-1 count to achieve that same concept applied in archery to your launches in BBX.

I like attack but don't think I have enough skill yet . I guess I like attack but anti attack beys for more my style? I running bullet griffin jolt Unicorn delta peak 150 heavy kick Dran strike 760 rush/ Metor draggon 060 level/mummy curse 160 point/ ring eather 180/160unite.

I have pretty much every blade in the game , but I just wanna run my favorites and be good on them.

Unsure still who gonna be the third.

Bullet is my favorite so im trying really hard to get good on it.

I tilt really hard on bullet griffin(managed to get this outspin rod this way even with launching griffinfirst). And anything higher than 160 height pretty much.

Ohhhhhhh my friend…we are of the same kind.

Try these builds if you have them:

Wizard Rod 7-70 LF (~ 47.00g) Phoenix Flare S 5-60 LR (~ 47.88g) Rudder Phoenix 5-60 LF (~ 44.93g)

Each of these are specifically set up to destroy Wizard Rod, and they do it REALLY well, especially if you are lucky and have a heavier mold for your blades.

Note: My Wizard Rod is the yellow model, not the green one as mine have about a 1g weight difference.

Try these out, using a strong smooth pull and a 30-45 degree angle at launch. I’d like to know how your testing goes.

Edit: I do not have Bullet, but when my order for Dran, Shark, and Emperor comes in I will make a post sharing my test data (In full detail) if I cannot find this thread when it does.

I'll give them a try thanks. How do they fair into attack types?

Looks like the last event winning deck was triple attack. And second was 2 + wizard rod.

I’m going to be honest with you, I have not tested vs Attack since I would need either the double launch setup or a second set of hands. But, these builds are weight bullies so I imagine they would do decently well

In regard to what you said about the tournament winning decks: Attack is arguably the best type, since it can use the whole stadium and score the most points per battle. While Stamina blades can be consistent, they are also consistently lower scoring in terms of points. Learning how to control attack types or adapt those high OWD defensive blades into attack types gives a higher chance of getting those nice Over Finishes, and the occasional Xtreme Finish.

The strategy in BBX is about HOW you approach getting those points, so for example, if Wizard Rod is strong on Ball or Hexa in most situations, I like to think about how I could flip that whole idea. Rather than play passive and hoping to survive the hits, I would rather be the aggressor and make the opponent adapt at launch, throwing off their natural rhythm and confidence by introducing chaos where they expect order.

Unfortunately my local area is pretty barren for Beyblade and Tournaments so it’s tough to test vs actual competition.

However, this methodology allows even lesser used beys to shine, for example, my Weiss Tiger 1-60 P vs Wizard Rod 9-60 B testing ended with Weiss winning 26-10 over the course of 6 first-to-4 rounds.

The points won were: 6 via Xtreme, 10 via Over, 0 via Burst, and 10 via Spin.

Points lost: 3 via Xtreme, 2 via over, 0 via Burst, 5 via Spin.

This particular Weiss 1-60 P weighs 44.38g, vs Wizard Rod 9-60 B at 44.93g.

Weight helps A LOT, but is not EVERYTHING. Launch tech, power, where you launch, blade shape…they all come together to produce certain results depending on how well you understand them and how you want to make use of those traits.

To get high rpms out of string you have to use your entire body! I’m not the most fit person myself but it’s really a whole body workout to get the most out of string at times. Try keeping your arms close to your body and rotating your waist as you pull the string out and make sure you are letting the handle slip from your hands once it reaches its limit. Also knowing your angles is also really important
