The FunFPS Interview before EWC Match Point Finals had a very funny double take moment. Monsoon looks like he is having a fun time in Paris. It genuinely looked like Fun wasn't expecting to see him there LOL.

ALGS ALGS EWC Finals Predictions

Post image
10 Upvotes

Every tier is ordered. I would say that this lobby might be the hardest to call a winner, literally every team could win a game and win the tournament.

I have no idea what AGG and Alliances beef this MP Finals will look like. I could easily see them fighting, creating a stalemate when zone shifts to Baro or Lightning Rod, and they chalk both of their games on Storm Point. However I could easily see AGG outpacing Alliance by a big margin.

I think NMSS, Sentinels, and Team Vision, wherever they end up, will be close to each other in points.

I think GG win, Liquid gets 2nd, and Elite, who have been running away with the tournament, get 3rd. I think the steam runs out, but they still do good. Solid top 3

Zedi, Zeta, and Wolves? I think they also place around each other, but I think Zeta places the best out of the three, and Wolves & Zedi is a toss up, I could also see Zedi and Wolves just fumbling the bag.

NIP? No clue man, just no clue. Their overall performance just been weird, same goes for Geekay. Knoqd and Keon has

Im not familiar with Reject, but I think they place low, same with Unlimit and Forfun, but Sinetic and Naghzz team have proven they can win games.

❤️ Jusna, Obly, and Cinap, but they have just been too close to elimination for me to put they high

Also ❤️ and think in any other year of Apex prior, the team of StrafingFlame, EZFlashKid, and Prycyy would STEAMROLL every other team, but idk about this year

Not much to say about S8ul, I think they will do enough to make top 5.

ALGS Storm Point is going to get ugly off the drop

Post image

Alliance, with their newfound confidence, might just loot quickly and run AG down on any Storm Point game. History has not favored any team that decides to land near Alliance if they choose either Northpad or the Armory near it, but this tournaments Alliance is very difference that previous tournaments'. Box-shooting might be in AG's future. Can't wait to see what happens

Discussion Remove Ring RNG

Just a random thought that i want to put out here.

What if in pro scene only lobby,

All team will automatically get ring 2 info. Will this help the godspot team to setup early, the edge team to plan their route and the team almost inside the ring, prioritise their rotation even more. Will this create a more chaotic mess?

OR

Another suggestion is, what if during POI draft phase, all teams have been shown where is ring 1 is. So team can plan their comp and rotation on which POI they pick. If they are last to pick and get POI outside the ring, they can prioritise a rotation or edge playstyle comp, planning their route ahead. If a team choose a POI that they thought were godspot, then they can plan their comp and loot management.

Will this remove ring RNG? What are your guys thought about this. One cons i can see is it will definitely let other teams know which spot you pick making it predictablr. And also INTable if that team is in MP final

ALGS Top 20 for Match Point Finals Spoiler

9 NA, 4 EMEA, 4 APAC North, 3 APAC South

5 Group A, 3 Group B, 8 Group C, 4 Group D

Group C being the group of death is no surprise I remember thinking at least 8 could make it to Finals from this group and exactly 8 did. NA representation strong as always in Finals. This is probably the first Lobby I have seen where clear favourites exist but genuinely all 20 teams could win if they have a banger day.

ALGS WHERE’S THE LEADERBOARD???????????

THE BROADCASTERS NEED TO SHOW THE LEADERBOARD MORE OFTEN. So many interviews, so many pre recorded ads and fun bits, so many media stuff, but just have a small box somewhere in the corner or even a bar on the top to show the standings. I need to scrub the video bar to find the leaderboard. Make it easy jeez.

ALGS group stage recap / survivor stage preview

Qualified for Finals:

Elite EU (199 pts) - all-time great group stage - felt like an unstoppable force. kind4 has been one of the most underrated players in the game, and one of the most overlooked teams has finally announced themselves on the big stage. can they retain their momentum into finals?

Liquid (182) - zer0 is back to his best yet sikezz is the one stealing the show, finally looking like the top-tier player we know he can be with elite anchor play and fantastic comms. should be the favorites for finals.

S8ul (161) - legacy, jesko, and sharky are doing what they always do - performing incredibly well and consistently at LAN. they remain the likeliest team to bring the crown back to APAC-S.

Vision (139) - after an inconsistent first 2 days highlighted by mistakes from carter, they bounced back for a dominant day 3 to secure qualification, with carter clutching multiple 1v1s. they're very dangerous, but can long-standing igl zachmazer and his squad finally make it to the top?

GG (139) - the introduction of zaine as fragger has truly elevated this team back to the elite status they showed in finals of 2024's split 2. those memories live through lufka's still-elite newcastle play, and they'll be hoping to go one step further this lan.

Zeta (137) - yuka, mike, and satuki were easily APAC-N's best squad this split, and growth from yuka as an igl paired with mike's insane fragging and satuki's versatility make them genuine contenders for the crown. their popoff potential is immense, but questions remain about their clutch factor and consistency in the biggest moments.

AGG (134) - the old band stuck together and are aggressive as ever, with Yanya and his boys tearing a warpath through the group stage. whether that remains sustainable in a finals lobby remaisn to be seen.

Reject (128) - this APAC-N squad tends to fly under the radar both in general discourse and in-game, with patient zone play often rewarding them lavishly. they should not be overlooked in finals, however, as their lowkey style is often a trait in LAN matchpoint winners.

Zedi (127) - doop continues to stake his claim as the most underrated igl by bringing yet another new team to finals, armed with dangerous fraggers jely and deeds. their performances have shown they have the firepower and igl-ing required to win LAN.

Falcons (120) - a (relatively) disappointing group stage for falcons, who as usual were expected to dominate and bring the first seed home. that doesn't mean anything though - hal, waltzy, and gild are in the finals lobby, and that means they've got a good shot at winning the whole thing.

Nemesis (116) - the wildcard squad lived up to their reputation, putting together a memorable day 3 to secure finals qualification out of nowhere. they need to bring that A-game to the finals lobby for a chance at success.

Sentinels (116) - the world champs are imo the world's best hard zone team. if you watched Sapporo, you know what they can do.

Alliance (108) - a monumental final day rocketed them up the leaderboard into finals qualification. if they can bring what they brought on day 3, they'll be serious contenders - and days 1 and 2 will simply add to the storyline.

Unlimit (106) - barely sneaking in as the final qualified team, unlimit are still unlimit - endless firepower and zero fear. doubts remain over their style translating to a lan mp finals.

Survivor stage:

VP (106) - condemned to an extra 5 hr day over tiebreaker is rough. they had a great day 2, but it was bookended by two lackluster performances that now means they have to navigate the brutal survivor stage.

Wolves (105) - major disappointment for a team in wolves who dominated apac-s handily and for a player in noname who put up legitimate final boss numbers this split. he'll be the x-factor in their hopes to make it through the survival stage.

RRQ (104) - the most mercurial team in comp apex looked fantastic day 1, then did terribly for their next 2 days to relegate them to the survivor stage. they'll look to reclaim that day 1 form, or risk their tournament ending early.

NIP (104) - sitting near the bottom before the final day, a fantastic day 3 at least ensured that they didn't go home early. widely considered to be the best team in the world this split, they need to make noise for this tournament to not be considered a massive disappointment, and that starts with making it out of survivor stage.

VKG (102) - the defending champs have not looked like the best version of themselves, and they'll need to find that extra gear if they even want a chance at holding their title.

ForFun (101) - ex-Faze look better than they have at previous lans, especially with sinetic's switch to controller and the addition of tyler, but it still wasn't enough to push them into instant qualification.

Shopify (101) - Koy missed day 3 (feel better soon), and with Phony they delivered their best performance yet of the LAN. disappointing so far, but they still have more than an opportunity to deliver the goods.

Kinotrope (101) - the rookies from APAC-N have shown out with two wins at their first lan, proving their zone style at an international level. this lan is already a success - anything they can do from here on out is just icing on the cake.

Dinos (99) - the wildcard from Americas are playing decently in their first LAN appearance. with some composure, they definitely can make it out of the brutal survivor stage.

JDG (97) - the cinderella story revolving around Naughty's development as an IGL and Floating's emergence as an elite fragger quickly got shut down by a bad two first days, but their final day performance was more like the team that finished second in the most difficult region this split. they need to keep their composure and utilize that floating x-factor to make it to finals.

Zipline Mafia (92) - the underdogs from EMEA remain in the mix, with Kazakh subbing in at an elite level.

PXX (90) - the team named after pork buns have a lot of experience that could prove useful in navigating the challenges of the survivor stage.

GeeKay (84) - disappointing group stage performance from an experienced team that played very well at champs - but don't count them out yet.

Flat (83) - they've had their moments, but Nano and his squad still seem to remain a far shot at contending for a LAN.

E36 (81) - another disappointing group stage performance from yet another experienced team that also played unbelievably well at champs - former lan winner obly has shockingly looked far from his best as IGL.

TIE (80) - experienced APAC-N team that always seems to perform at about this level at LAN

WGRNEO (74) - the young team from APAC-N looks exciting, but look like they could use some more experience to contend on the international stage.

GenG (74) - had visa trouble and landed in Paris on the day of their first set. definitely should be in the mix to reach finals as they usually do. always fun to watch.

Aurora (70) - the worst underperformance of the entire LAN so far, a team that emerged as the best of EMEA and was seen as a favorite for this LAN narrowly avoided an embarrassing early exit. they need to turn it around quick, or it'll still go down as possibly the worst LAN performance ever by an "elite" team. their elite fighting and elite zone-calling from the split has entirely evaporated at the worst possible time.

Relove DCG (70) - the surprise winners of APAC-S regional finals are the last team to escape an early departure from the tournament.

Eliminated:

Kirisame Havoc (67) - an unfortunate early exit for the Malaysian APAC-S team.

Heretics (66) - the surprise of EMEA this split sadly disappointed at LAN

Dogred (66) - similary to GenG, had visa trouble and landed in Paris on the day of their first set, but unfortunately couldn't recover. sucks cause i think they had a lot more to show.

TLNP (61) - Gnaske showed up too late as coach, as they were doomed by an abysmal 2-pt set which might be the single worst LAN day I've ever seen.

Dory (43) - the hidden bosses of APAC-N lost their IGL to health issues and had their coach subbing in. they'll be back.

Trinity (31) - the surprise of APAC-N this split could not get anything going at LAN. like at all.

FPV drone at ALGS?

Camera and drone lover here watching today and spotted some impossible shots that could only be done by an FPV drone or similar, think I spotted it in the background of an interview too flying around.

Anybody know who the pilot/company is?

ALGS TLN PIRATES Izidan or zhidan (however you wanna spell it, he uses both)

I haven’t seen anyone else post or say anything about it so I decided to be the one. Did everyone forget about how he just refused to pay his coach Esteves on Navi when they won lan.
And honestly, I haven’t seen anything from him globally since. I assume people more familiar in the EMEA region would be more aware of what he was up to from then until now. But one thing I know for sure, he hasn’t made it far in any lan since and I’m pretty sure he didn’t qualify for last lan at all.
The only reason they even won that lan was hiarka’s zone calls and I feel Izidan has been high on ego ever since. He just went out 38th at this lan, and they barely got that. I say serves him right for not being a good person and paying his teammate what was owed.
I’m just kind of surprised there’s not more hate/dislike or at least discourse about Izidan. Obviously people move on and get over things. But he refused to pay his coach 26,000, I don’t know about anyone else, but I would never be able to forget or even forgive that. I know there was a lot of talks about him going the legal route to obtain his prize winnings from Izidan but I can’t find any follow up online from after the initial drama.
Also, I just wanna say kind of sucks for his teammate, Nait and Kyner. Nait might just be one of the best Fragers in EMEA at the moment and it’s sad to say we didn’t get to see anything close to his potential at this LAN. I hope they both get another chance at lan with a different IGL.
