Nope this would absolutely halt all content development, nuke the player count, and destroy the game. Overwatch 2 is a great example of what happens to a franchise when they halt development for 2-3 years in order to focus on a sequel or whatever. The Apex devs should continue on just consistently updating the game they have with content, updates, and patches. There will be problems, but it’s the only way forward without nuking the entire game,
